Allen, Key Wrap Up Seasons At State Meet

LeighAnn Allen and Trevor Key wrapped up their seasons Friday at the Class 4 state meet in Jefferson City.

Allen qualified in the 200-meter dash and finished with a time of 25.98 seconds, nearly a half second faster than her time at the sectional meet May 20 in Eldon.

As well as Allen ran, the time wasn't enough to move her on to the finals on Saturday. She took 10th place.

Allen's senior season included five first-place finishes in the 100-meter dash and three first-place finishes in the 200-meter dash. She also won first place in the 400-meter dash at the Owensville Quad and was part of the 4x400-meter relay team that won at the Four Rivers Conference meet.

Key qualified in both hurdles events after taking second place at sectionals. He finished 12th in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.88 seconds.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Key took 13th in 41.73 seconds. A junior, Key also had a successful season, taking first place in the 110-meter hurdles once and winning the 300-meter hurdles at the district meet.

He was also a part of the 4x100-meter relay team that won first at the FRC meet, Hillsboro and Owensville.
