Strain-Japan Annual Science Fair

Students in grades six through eight have been working for most of the year preparing a science project for the annual science fair at Strain-Japan. This year, the projects seemed to have outdone many years in the past. Alfredine Slaby, Pat Songer, along with student judges, Trista Woods, and Kristin Lucas, who timed the projects, had a very difficult time judging the projects. But in the end, winners were chosen. Elle Webers and Keeley Lechten tied for the first place medals, with Kaleb Keen receiving second place and Cade Knese the third place. Before the presentation of medals, Mr. Rodney Angell, member of the Gasconade Region Beekeepers Club, gave a talk about raising honey bees. He brought many illustrations of the various stages of development of bees and he also spoke on how to actually raise the bees and market the honey and other products from the bees. The audience was very impressed with the information he provided.
