St. Anthony School News
Holy Week at a Catholic school is a special time. The central beliefs of our faith are rooted in the events of this week. Students learned about these through several activities. They started off with a recreation of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. They were joyful that our Savior was so well received! During school and prayers, they focused on their Good Shepherd's call to follow Him. They thought about their behavior and asked themselves, "Do my words and actions shout 'Hosanna' or 'Crucify him'? They shared a Seder meal with "Jesus," the Last Supper, and remembered that he gave us the Eucharist. Then they experienced Holy Thursday's and Good Friday's sadness of Jesus' betrayal, arrest, scourging, and death. It all turned out all right, though, when they celebrated Jesus' glorious resurrection on Easter Sunday! Alleluia!
