Eric Dane’s ‘Charmed’ Co-Star Alyssa Milano Pens Heartfelt Tribute to Beloved Actor
Alyssa Milano has paid tribute to her former Charmed co-star Eric Dane following news of his death at age 53, less than one year after announcing his battle with ALS.
The actress took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt tribute to her former on-and-off-screen love interest. Dane and Milano briefly dated back in 2003, which led to him being on Charmed.
Milano included two photos in her social media share. One of Dane with his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, whom he met shortly after his split from Milano, and their daughters, Billie and Georgie. In the second one, Milano threw back to her and Dane’s time on Charmed as Jason and Phoebee.
“I can’t stop seeing that spark in Eric’s eye right before he’d say something that would either make you spit out your drink or rethink your entire perspective. He had a razor-sharp sense of humor. He loved the absurdity of things. He loved catching people off guard,” Milano began her lengthy tribute.
The Melrose Place star went on to reveal how Gayheart and their daughters changed Dane.
“And when it came to his daughters and Rebecca, everything in him softened. He carried them with him even in rooms where they weren’t present. You could see it in the way his voice changed when he said their names. A breathtakingly beautiful family,” she expressed.

Milano recalled the “mischief” and “spark” the actor had, but also kept hidden at times, before she explained how Dane influenced her pixie cut hairstyle back in the day.
“He convinced me to get my pixie cut and my nose piercing. He also was with me on the walk when we found Lucy, my beloved rescue chihuahua. He called me 'Milano,' as if it was the only part of my name that mattered. My heart is with the people who were lucky enough to be his home,” Milano ended her tribute.
View this post on InstagramCharmed helped change the course of Dane’s career, leading him to his breakout role as Dr. Mark Sloan, aka McSteamy, on Grey’s Anatomy. Dane was beloved by many and remembered dearly by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Eric Dane Died on the 20th Anniversary of His ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Debut
Eric Dane has died at 53—exactly 20 years to the day of his first appearance on Grey’s Anatomy.
Dane, who publicly revealed his ALS diagnosis in April 2025, passed away on February 19, 2026. The date marks the 20th anniversary of his debut as Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan in the Grey’s Anatomy season 2 episode titled “Yesterday,” which originally aired on February 19, 2006.
In that episode, described as “Derek and Addison are shaken by the arrival of a figure from their past,” Dane’s arrival as the charismatic plastic surgeon instantly altered the show’s trajectory—and cemented one of television’s most memorable nicknames.

His ALS DiagnosisOn April 10, 2025, Dane revealed he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease, a progressive motor neuron disease for which there is currently no cure.
At the time, he told People in a statement, "I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to the set of Euphoria next week. I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time."
He added, “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”
Dane continued working following his diagnosis, returning to film season 3 of HBO’s Euphoria, which is now set to premiere on April 12, 2026.

A Fierce Advocate for ALSFollowing news of his passing, nonprofit organization I AM ALS released a statement honoring Dane’s advocacy.
“We are heartbroken by the passing of our friend Eric Dane—a fierce advocate, a generous spirit, and a true champion in the movement to end ALS,” the organization said.
“Eric used his platform not for attention, but for action… He understood that ALS is not just a diagnosis; it is a call to action for families, for answers, and for change.”
The organization noted that Dane joined its leadership in the halls of Congress to fight for research funding and supported the Push for Progress Initiative. They added that his “impact will live on in the research being funded, the policies being advanced, and the community he helped grow.”
Beyond Grey’s Anatomy, Dane starred as Cal Jacobs on HBO’s Euphoria. His portrayal of the complicated, secretive patriarch became one of the drama’s most talked-about performances.
He is survived by his wife, actress Rebecca Gayheart, and their two daughters Billie and Georgia. The couple, who married in 2004, separated but remained close amid his ALS diagnosis; in March 2025, Gayheart withdrew her divorce petition.
Tomorrow, February 20, is National Caregivers Day, which is a poignant reminder of the families who stand behind those battling ALS and other life-altering illnesses.
1981 Episode of 'Little House on the Prairie' Is Still Giving Us Nightmares 45 Years Later
If you were an '80s kid, you most likely spent a good portion of your childhood watching Little House on the Prairie. Most of the time, tuning in was a pleasant experience. Maybe Laura and Nellie would have some sort of confrontation or there might be some financial struggle worrying Pa, but it could be said the Little House was peak feel-good TV...except, of course, for when it wasn't.
There were plenty of times when the show got suddenly, surprisingly dark (Ma's trippy experience with blood poisoning, the horrifying fire at the school for the blind), but the one episode that really continues to haunt viewers over 40 years later involved Albert, his girlfriend Sylvia, and the scariest clown ever.
Titled "Sylvia," the two-part episode was both written and directed by Michael Landon (Pa), and stars Olivia Barash as Sylvia, a young girl who gets sexually assaulted by a mystery man in a clown mask. When Sylvia ends up pregnant as a result, everybody in Walnut Grove shuns her except for Albert Ingalls (Matthew Labyorteaux). The two youngsters are in love, and Albert plans to marry Sylvia and raise the child as his own (Sylvia, famously, hopes to wear "flowers in her hair" at their wedding).
Unfortunately (and traumatically, for viewers), that's not what happens at all. When the evil clown tries to attack Sylvia again, she falls from a ladder in her attempt to escape and dies (as Albert cries, reassuring her that somebody they will get married and she will wear flowers in her hair). Um...yikes?! Talk about a bummer.
In a 2023 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Barash admitted that while she knew her role on Little House would be a "dramatic" one, she didn't know all the details.
"I didn't know about the clown mask," she said, laughing. "I knew that the character was going to be raped. I was ready to do it. I wanted to do something dramatic. My mom was very overprotective. Because it was television, we thought [it wouldn't be as graphic]. I was not allowed to go up for movies like The Exorcist."
When she did finally see the clown mask on actor Richard Jaeckel (who played the town blacksmith), she was just as freaked out as the rest of us.
"I was like, 'Ahhh!' It scared me," she recalled, adding, "I was afraid of clowns anyway!"
"I was afraid of clowns growing up, I had a fear of the circus and clowns. So that worked for me," she continued. "I was considered for an Emmy nomination for my role. I was a kid, and I didn't really have a manager at that point. We didn't know how to [campaign and] parlay it into the nomination. But I got the letter from the Academy, and it said I was being considered. So that was kind of a big deal."
Barash definitely deserved the nomination for her emotional performance, for sure. And as far as scary clowns from TV and movies go, you can forget about Pennywise...the Little House clown was way more terrifying.

Devastating Statement From Eric Dane Was Published Just 1 Week Before His Death
One recent interview quote from Eric Dane is now even more devastating in the wake of his death.
The beloved Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria actor died on Thursday, Feb. 19, just 10 months after he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He was 53.
Just one week before his death, Dane was quoted in an interview for TIME100 Health, after being named as one of the publication's "Most Influential People in Health" for 2026.
In the story, Dane was quoted with saying, "I'm trying to save my life."
He added, "If my actions can move the needle forward for myself and countless others, I'm satisfied."
The story was published on Feb. 11, just 8 days before Dane's death.
But Dane's legacy will continue to live on, a result of his dedication and advocacy for ALS research throughout the last months of his life.
As noted in his TIME profile, Dane had joined the board of directors of Target ALS prior to his death, helping the nonprofit organization raise $500,000 for ALS research. He also started the "Push for Progress" campaign with I AM ALS and in January, he received the Advocate of the Year Award at the ALS Network’s Champions for Cures and Care gala.
Dane also made an appearance on NBC's Brilliant Minds in November 2025 to play a patient battling ALS, delivering a moving performance and further bringing awareness to the disease.
Dane is survived by his wife Rebecca Gayheart and their two daughters: Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13.
His family confirmed the news of his death on Thursday evening, sharing in a statement: "With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS. He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world."
The statement continued, "Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight. He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he’s received. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time."

Eric Dane’s Final On-Screen Role Is in a Dark Twisted Thriller
After Eric Dane died from ALS on Feb. 19, many fans are already missing the late actor and looking back on his past screen roles. Luckily, there is one final film role coming up for Dane, and it's a dark and twisted thriller called Family Secrets.
News of Dane's involvement in the project was announced at the end of 2023, with Deadline reporting on the slate of rising stars in the cast. At the time, the publication stated that the film was in production, and alongside Dane, Family Secrets stars Maia Mitchell, Thomas Doherty, Tyriq Withers, Hannah Dodd, and more.
While no photos or clips from the film have been shared publicly yet, the synopsis is already enough to excite fans. Withers stars as the protagonist, described as a "charming young man" who heads to a destination wedding where Dane's character's daughter, played by Mitchell, is getting married to her fiancé, played by Doherty. Withers' character aims to get revenge on Dane by seducing his daughter and charming his son-in-law-to-be.
According to Deadline, "As their relationship gets steamier, the truth gets closer to the surface, forcing the question of whether anyone is safe… and who is conning who?"
There haven't been any official updates about the project since then, but according to IMDb, the movie completed filming and is currently in post-production. Hopefully, a release date will be announced soon, and fans of Dane can get hyped up to see him in the tense thriller.

In the time since the movie's production, Dane has appeared in several projects, most recently Kabul, Countdown, and a deeply impactful performance as a man with ALS in Brilliant Minds. He also filmed Season 3 of Euphoria, which will premiere in April.

Steve Perry Breaks Silence on Journey Reunion
Steve Perry is setting the record straight.
On Thursday, February 19, the former Journey frontman shared a direct message to fans on Facebook addressing growing rumors that he might rejoin the band ahead of its planned 2026 farewell tour.
To all my friends –
I’ve been hearing these recent rumors, and I wanted to speak to you all directly. While I’m always grateful for the love people still have for Journey, the rumors about me rejoining the band are simply not true, and I want to gently put them to rest.
I completely understand why people would hope for that. The music we created together means a great deal to me too. But I’m continuing to explore new creative work and really enjoy working on new music that reflects where I am today.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the years. Your loyalty has never gone unnoticed, and I am forever humbly grateful.
Sincerely,
Steve Perry
The statement quickly drew more than 1,000 comments, with fans expressing both understanding and lingering hope.
“Totally understandable. But here’s a thought…..maybe a short cameo before it’s too late? You will always be the defining voice of Journey. Bless you and best of luck on your next musical creation,” wrote one fan.
Another commented, “A forever vocal hero! Your Catalog is like the Olympics of vocal virtuosity. I get what you're saying -you can still sing and create -Just doesn't need to be at 11 all the time:) Been there done that 😆.”
Others continued to float the idea of a one-time appearance during Journey’s reported farewell run.
“If this is the final tour for Journey, it would be a tribute to the fans for Steve to do a few dates. Make it for charity or fire relief, whatever that he feels appropriate. The fans deserve one more show!” one person wrote.
“Probably a good idea. People would fight in the streets over tickets,” another added.
The renewed speculation about a possible reunion intensified earlier this week amid discussion surrounding Journey’s upcoming 2026 tour. Band members have publicly acknowledged that Perry was invited to participate in some capacity, fueling online debate about whether a surprise appearance could happen.
For now, however, Perry has made his position clear.
While he continues to speak respectfully about Journey’s legacy and the music they created together, he says he is focused on new creative work rather than returning to the band.
Why Eric Dane Barely Watched ‘Grey’s Anatomy’
On February 19, actor Eric Dane died following a battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). He was 53.
Dane found mainstream success after he joined the cast of the beloved medical drama Grey's Anatomy during its second season, which premiered in 2006. Dane starred as Dr. Mark Sloan, known as Dr. McSteamy, on the ABC series until the 9th season. He also had a guest role in a season 17 episode, which aired in 2021, per IMDb.
While speaking to Extra TV in 2022, Dane revealed that he had never tuned into Grey's Anatomy. He explained that he was well aware of the show's storylines because of his access to the scripts and time on set.
"I never watched it ... I was there when it happened," said Dane to Extra TV.
He clarified that he believed the show was "very well done" and "very well written."
"That's probably why people are still watching," said Dane in the Extra TV interview.
In a June 2024 interview on LIVE with Kelly and Mark, Dane shared that he had "seen a few episodes" of Grey's Anatomy, but wasn't an active viewer. He said that his daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 14, mothered by his estranged wife, Rebecca Gayheart, were fans of the show.
"They've watched everything," said Dane in the 2024 interview.
He then explained his reasoning for not watching the show, which is currently in its 22nd season.
"I was kind of there when it happened, so my attitude was like I don't want to see it because then you start looking at things you shouldn't be looking at. And the experience for me was in the act of," said the actor.
Dane shared he appreciated his time starring in Grey's Anatomy in a 2022 interview on The Jess Cagle Show.
"It was fun, you know, I love all those people dearly," said Dane in the interview.
Eric Dane Spent His Final Public Appearance Advocating for His Future: 'Gonna Fight Until the Last Breath'
Eric Dane was forced to cancel several public appearances in the months leading up to his death on Thursday, Feb. 19, citing problems related to his battle with ALS each time.
In fact, he even backed out of the ALS Network’s Champions for Cures and Care Gala on Saturday, Jan. 24, where he was meant to receive its Advocate of the Year award "due to the physical realities of ALS." He also skipped out on the Emmys back in September, just days after he was announced as a presenter at the illustrious awards, sparking concern among fans over his unexplained absence. He later said, “ALS is a nasty disease…So I was in the hospital during the Emmys getting stitches put in my head."
There were very few public appearances from the Grey's Anatomy star in between his diagnosis with the neurodegenerative disease and his death, but he spent most of them stressing his dedication to finding a cure for his disease.

The last time he was physically seen in public was at the Toronto airport in October, where paparazzi spotted him navigating through the terminal using a wheelchair for mobility assistance, but that was clearly far from an intentional appearance on his part.
He was also spotted at the airport in Washington, D.C., back in September, seen using a motorized wheelchair while in town to speak with California Congressman Eric Swalwell about his disease in search of support in making treatment options more accessible, shedding light on the difficulties many ALS patients face when it comes to getting the medical help they need.
@swalwellericIt was an honor to meet with @iamalsorg and my friend @realericdane to discuss the urgent need for progress in the fight against ALS. From investing in innovative treatments to ensuring access to quality care, we must do more to support patients, families, and researchers.
♬ original sound - swalwell“ALS is the last thing they want to diagnose anybody with,” he told the politician during their meeting. “It so often takes all this time for these people to be diagnosed. Well, then it precludes them from being part of these clinical trials. That’s why Act for ALS is so great because it broadens the access for everybody.”

“I want to ring every bell. I have two daughters at home. I wanna see them graduate college, get married, maybe have grandkids," he emphasized. "I wanna be there for all that. So, I’m gonna fight until the last breath on this one.”
Around the same time, he released a PSA-style video talking about his push to find a cure for ALS. At the time, fans took note of changes to his speech pattern since he was first diagnosed.

His last scheduled appearance was in June 2025, just two months after he revealed his diagnosis to the world. He met with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Oz at the Department of Health and Human Services Headquarters, and spoke about his diagnosis during a news conference held to discuss the state of health insurance.
And his final red carpet appearance came just a few days prior to that, at the Los Angeles premiere of Prime Video's Countdown, which he starred in with Jensen Ackles.
Finally, his last appearance on television prior to his death was in a guest spot on Brilliant Minds, which also served as one of his first roles since his diagnosis. He played a firefighter recently diagnosed with ALS who struggled to tell his family the news. But fans of the late actor can look forward to seeing him in the third season of Euphoria, premiering this spring, as well as his final film role, Family Secrets.

Will Eric Dane's Memoir Still Be Published? What We Know
Actor Eric Dane, most well-known for his long-running role in the beloved TV drama Grey's Anatomy, died on Feb. 19 to ALS. After his death, the status of a deeply personal project that was in the works, his memoir, is a major question.
Dane first revealed that he was writing a memoir in early December 2025. At the time, Maria Shriver announced that, through her publishing imprint, The Open Field, she would be publishing the memoir written by Dane, called Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments.
The late actor shared a statement about the exciting career update, saying, “I wake up every morning, and I’m immediately reminded that this is real — this illness, this challenge and that’s exactly why I’m writing this book.”
He went on, "I want to capture the moments that shaped me — the beautiful days, the hard ones, the ones I never took for granted — so that if nothing else, people who read it will remember what it means to live with heart. If sharing this helps someone find meaning in their own days, then my story is worth telling.”

Thank you for entrusting me with your story, Eric!"
When the news was first announced, the memoir was planned to be published in 2026, although there was no word on a specific month or date.

Eric Dane Portrayed Firefighter with ALS in Last TV Appearance Before Death
In his last television role before his death, Eric Daneplayed a firefighter and father battling ALS in Brilliant Minds.
The Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria actor passed away on Thursday, Feb. 19 from ALS at 53-years-old. In Nov. 2025, Dane guest starred on the NBC medical drama Brilliant Minds as Matthew Ramati. Dane's character seeks treatment from Dr. Oliver Wolf (Zachary Quinto) as he hides his diagnosis from his family.
"We really wanted to honor him and his experience and be really truthful about it. [We] didn’t want to sensationalize in any way," show runner Michael Grassi said of the episode. "We really wanted to honor Eric and step up and do this for him. Cast, crew [and] writers — everybody really stepped up in such a beautiful way."
Grassi shared with The Hollywood Reporter in Nov. 2025, that Dane's team has reached out and expressed that he was a fan of the show and wanted to be involved. Grassi and Dane then began having conversations as to what his guest starring role would look like.

Anna Wintour Stuns After Ditching Signature Look in Rare Public Appearance
It’s not often that Anna Wintour strays from her carefully curated image that has defined her trademark look for decades, but when she does, fans notice it immediately.
During a rare public appearance since her retirement, the former Vogue editor-in-chief stunned onlookers with a subtle change.
The British-American media executive and fashion icon marked the first day of London Fashion Week together with Queen Camilla.
The two powerful ladies came together to discuss British fashion and the charity launched by Her Majesty known as The Queen’s Reading Room.
While Queen Camilla looked stylish in an all-black outfit, the 76-year-old fashion icon matched the vibe with her burgundy dress and a matching long coat with a velvet collar and caramel-colored high-heeled boots.
However, it was her decision to ditch her signature oversized sunglasses that quickly caught the public’s attention.

In 2019, she revealed the reason behind choosing this style. Wintour told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that she finds eyewear “incredibly useful because you avoid people knowing what you’re thinking about.”

Why Was Rose Dropped From Season 3 of ‘The Night Manager’? Gabriel Basso Answers, Teases Her Return
The Night Agent season three hit Netflix today.
But there's one familiar face who's missing.
Luciane Buchanan, the Rose to Gabriel Basso's Peter, is nowhere to be found. Fans of the thriller who have kept up with the binge know how the two left things; so as to not spoil any plot lines for the rest of you, let’s just say Rose and Peter went their separate ways.
According to Deadline, however, a surprise return isn’t out of the question.
Chatting with the show's creator, Shawn Ryan, and star, Basso, the outlet shared a peek into the minds of the writers and why Rose left on the cutting room floor.
“In the writers room, we certainly discussed it,” Ryan said. “In fact, that was our starting position: What would a Peter-Rose-centric story in season three look like? There were moments in that conversation that felt a little derivative of the first couple seasons. And then we challenged ourselves, What would it look like without Rose in the season, and we came up with a lot of what you see in season three. So it was completely a creative decision.”
Gah, but the longing, the yearning, the romance.
View this post on InstagramAddressing the fandom Peter and Rose have created as a couple, Ryan said, “Yeah, I know it’s a topic. I don’t mind answering it, because my answer has always been consistent. I love Luciane and I’d love to see Rose on the show again at some point. This was the best story that we felt we could tell.”
Last year, Buchanan talked with People magazine about her absence from season three. After spending the first two seasons by Peter's side, the actress said the writers jsut couldn't make her storyline work with the new financial-world plot lines.
“They were like, 'We’ve been trying to find a way to bring [Rose] in, but we want to do her character justice and not make her a sub-character,’” Buchanan said. “I totally respected that decision and agreed. I was like, ‘If it makes sense to a story, I’ll do that. If it doesn’t, let’s not force that.’"
Despite having no lines, role, or appearance in the third season, girl is still on the lips of nearly every character. The writers made sure to keep the spirit of Rose alive through direct and indirect references.
Addressing Rose’s physical absence-slash-spiritual presence, Basso told Deadline, “Rose might not be present physically, but she is a presence mentally."
"She was a very significant person for Peter, and I don’t think that he’s the kind of person that just forgets things and moves on," he continues. "So she might not be there on screen, but she’s definitely still a motivating factor in his life. And I think he’s definitely taking away things that she’s told him and applying them to his situation in season three. She might be back in season four. Chelsea came back for season three.”
If the sting of Rose’s loss is too much, you can head over to Apple TV and binge Chief of War, in which she stars with Jason Momoa. The story of the unification of the Hawaiian Islands, it hasn’t yet been renewed for a second season, though creator and star Momoa has expressed interest in a another go-round, per Coming Soon.
The Night Agent, season three, is now streaming on Netflix.
