This 35-Year-Old Novel Is Unsurprisingly Goodreads' No. 1 Time-Travel Romance

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 9:45am

Can you believe that Outlander by Diana Gabaldonis turning 35 in 2026? It’s since been transformed into a TV series that has captured the hearts of viewers, but the books remain popular for old and new fans.

So, it’s not surprising that it’s made it to the top of a few romance lists. One of those is Goodreads’ “Best Time-Travel Romance Novel” list, which is voted on by the users. It has confidently beaten out the likes of The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux to sit at the top of the list.

‘Outlander’ by Diana Gabaldon Beats Out Its Competition

This list is voted on by users on Goodreads, and on the list of “Best Time-Travel Romance Novels,”Outlander gained a score of 168,189 with 1,688 votes. While The Time Traveler’s Wife lands in a respectable second place, the number of votes is drastically different, with just 760 users voting for it.

Part of this could be due to age. After all, Outlander was published on June 1, 1991, while The Time Traveler’s Wife was published more than a decade later on Sept. 1, 2003. However, there’s no doubt that readers quickly fell in love with Jamie Fraser, as he made it clear what a real man is.

‘Outlander’ Has Transformed Into a Whole Universe

While Gabaldon’s novel originally started as just practice, it quickly turned into a whole universe. Since 1991, she has published nine novels in the main series. There are also multiple novellas and short stories focused on Lord John Grey, who appears first in Dragonfly in Amber, and Gabaldon focused on other characters through a couple of other short stories.

The series has also been developed into a TV series, which is currently on its eighth and final season. There’s no doubt that this led to more readers finding the books. With long Droughtlanders, viewers have wanted to learn more about the backstories of characters and find out how the stories go by the original author.

It’s a series that you can go back to at different points in life, allowing different storylines to call out to you. Of course, it’s no surprise that it is at the top of the list when it comes to time-travel romance.

Starbucks Is Bringing Back This Viral Frappuccino—but There's Only One Place to Get It

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 9:45am

The year was 2017, and yours truly had only recently become a shift supervisor in training at Starbucks. There was an electricity in the air that let me know it would be a day for the history books. Things started normal enough with the usual early bird regulars making their way through the drive-thru before the morning rush started, but nothing could've prepared me (or anyone else, for that matter) for the chaos that was about to ensue.

"Um, yes. Do you all have the Unicorn Frappuccino?" The words rang through my headset like a siren. One became three became seven. Order after order, feral customers, tweens hoping to get a pretty photo for the Gram, and news organizations ordered one of the most photo-worthy creations Starbies has ever made. The line of cars spilling out into the street was like nothing we'd ever seen before, and to help keep things moving, I was ripped away from my cozy station at the oven and placed on frapp duty for what felt like an eternity.

What was supposed to be enough supply to last us for a week or so vanished within a matter of hours. It was complete and utter madness, but on the bright side, I could probably recreate one from memory still to this day. Despite my less-than-fond recollection of April 19, 2017, though, I can understand the hype. It was truly a work of art, and although the polarizing sour-mango-white-mocha flavor wasn't everyone's cup of tea, it was vibrant and unexpected. Unfortunately, much like seeing an actual unicorn, it vanished into thin air, never to be seen again. That is, until now.

Starbucks Brings Back Unicorn Frappuccino Exclusively for Coachella 2026

If you've been itching to feast your eyes (and taste buds) on the elusive Unicorn Frappuccino, Starbucks has announced that it's bringing it back for a limited time—with one small caveat. The only place you'll be able to grab the eye-catching blended beverage will be at this year's Coachella festival for just a few hours during both weekends. Simply put, to get one, you'll have to spend at least $2,000 on a trip out to the desert, and even then, there's no guarantee.

Although it won't be returning to Starbucks cafés nationwide, flower-crown-adorned revelers who make their way to the Starbucks Coffeehouse at Coachella will be able to grab the tie-dye beverage along with other handcrafted concoctions from April 10–12 and April 17–19. And while the pop-up might seem a bit random, this year marks Starbucks' first-ever debut at Coachella, with the beloved coffeehouse serving as the festival's official coffee, tea, and Refreshers sponsor, so naturally, they had to pull out all the stops.

Festival attendees will also be able to take advantage of complimentary drinks in between sets, including Starbucks Cold Brew, Iced Matcha Latte and Strawberry Acai Refresher. As someone who the infamous Unicorn Frappuccino personally victimized, I'm OK with never having to see one again, but I can totally empathize if you're feeling a bit let down. Here's hoping Starbucks launches another mystifying frappuccino that takes the internet by storm, only this time nationwide. Just remember, if and when they do, please be kind to your barista.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Share Heartbreaking News on Live TV

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 9:40am

During the April 6 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, co-host Mark Consuelos shared heartbreaking news. He revealed that his beloved father, Saul Consuelos, died on March 23.

As People noted, according to Consuelos, his father had been ill for quite some time and "passed away peacefully."

Kelly Ripa, who has been married to Mark for nearly 30 years, called her father-in-law "the greatest person I've ever known."

"I can honestly say I will miss him every day for the rest of my life, as I know you will, as our children will," Rippa added.

She continued, "He really is so symbolic of everything you are."

During the April 6 show, Ripa also shared that the three children she shares with Consuelos are having a difficult time with the loss of their beloved grandfather. The couple has three grown children. Michael is 28, Lola is 24, and Joaquin is 23.

She explained, "This is the first loss they've ever experienced in their lives."

Ripa noted that her grandparents had died by the time she was 8 years old. For her kids, she pointed out to them, "You got to grow up [with grandparents]. You got to have deep, meaningful conversations [with them]."

Saul Consuelos was originally from Mexico. He immigrated to the United States when he was a teenager and served for 30 years in the Navy.

The actor and morning show co-host reflected on his father's legacy. "There were a lot of lectures, a lot of lectures, and I learned so much," he shared. "If he was fixing something in the house, he'd make me watch and do it...I learned the most by just watching him."

"He loved his country so much. If you're going to put a face to an immigrant, he would be the prime example of what this country promises people," Mark added.

Ripa shared that oftentimes when her husband was away working, her father-in-law would "come on remotes to take care of the kids so I could go to work."

She added, "He was very involved" in helping with the kids, so much so that sometimes people thought he was her husband.

Luckily, Mark had the opportunity to say goodbye to his father. He is currently working on a Broadway show, Fallen Angels, and he noted the new project was a welcome distraction.

Ripa praised her husband as he navigated his heartbreak. "You're the strongest person I know. You continually inspire me every day. All of the good things that I love about you, I loved those same things about your dad."

She added, "So I just want to say thank you, dad, for everything you gave to us. Everything."

1957 Classic Film Ranked Among 'Best Movies of All Time'

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 9:30am

There's no denying that there are plenty of movie classics that have stood the test of time in Hollywood and are even used in film classrooms across the country. A 1957 legal drama by Sidney Lumet tied together drama and the legal system into an on-screen gem.

Lumet was behind the camera for the 1957 hit film12 Angry Men as his grand directorial debut. It was originally adapted from Reginald Rose's 1954 teleplay of the same name, with Henry Fonda and Rose recruiting Lumet as director. The film is considered to be one of the best courtroom dramas ever made and is ranked among the best movies of all time by Rotten Tomatoes.

12 Angry Men is a gripping, high-stakes legal drama that explores what it truly means for a group of ordinary people to decide the fate of a young boy. As the jurors examine the facts of the case, tensions rise, and doubts begin to surface, forcing each man to confront his own biases. On a hot summer day in a New York courtroom, 12 jurors must decide if an 18-year-old boy is guilty of murdering his father and be put to death by the electric chair.

The acclaimed black-and-white film accomplishes so much with so little, playing with the tension and stifling reality that unfolds within a single jury room. Suspense is built up through conversation, personality clashes, and the gradual unraveling of the case.

Above all, 12 Angry Men has been praised for its standout script, which is one of its greatest strengths. It turns legal conversation and a court case into an examination of human nature, with the audience peering into each juror's distinct beliefs, prejudices, insecurities, and motivations. At the center is juror No. 8, played by Fonda, who brings up reasonable doubt and has the jurors question if they have done enough to justify taking a life.

Alongside Fonda, the cast was a stellar aspect of the film, starring Martin Balsam, John Fiedler, Lee J. Cobb, E.G. Marshall, Jack Klugman, Edward Binns, Jack Warden, Joseph Sweeney, Ed Begley, George Voskovec, and Robert Webber.

While having received a less-than-stellar box-office run, it was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. It was also preserved in 2007 in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for its historical significance. The film has since been an inspiration and has been examined by legal professionals.

12 Angry Men currently stands on Rotten Tomatoes with a 100% rating, and is the second-best legal drama, after the standout film To Kill a Mockingbird.

This 2024 Smutty Dark Romance Is the No. 1 Goodreads for Best 'Duet Narration'

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 9:24am

When it comes to book genres, smutty romance and dark romance are two of the rising popular forms of books. It’s not surprising then that readers (and listeners) are turning to the newest releases as they’re recommended on TikTok and Instagram. Goodreads users have voted on the best audiobooks, and when it comes to “Duet Narration,” there is only one at the top.

Lights Out by Navessa Allen may have only been released in 2024, but it quickly became a must-have for smutty book fans. That’s not surprising, with the modern-day dark romance element and fun storytelling. It’s the audiobook that fans have loved the most.

‘Lights Out’ Is the Best ‘Duet Narration’

It’s not always easy to get the narration right with a book, and it’s one of the reasons audiobooks can be hit or miss. Duet narrations can be harder, especially if one of the voices doesn’t quite match the overall character from the story — and usually, it’s the male voice that struggles more than the female voice.

Lights Out has made it to the top of the best “Duet Narration” list according to Goodreads users. With a score of 9,177 out of 93 votes, it sits ahead of Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver and Haunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton.

Elena Wolfe and Jacob Morgan narrate the voices of Aly Cappellucci and Josh Hammond, respectively, telling the story of a trauma nurse who dreams of masked men and one in particular chasing her down and a man who makes masked thirst traps for people online. The two have the chance to live out their darkest fantasies together, but how far are they willing to go?

‘Into Darkness’ Universe Expands

Allen started the Into Darkness universe with Lights Out just from what she describes as “one silly TikTok video.” Since then, she has written a second novel, and like many of these dark romance novels, you don’t need to read them in order.

Caught Up is the follow-up, and it focuses on different characters. Nico “Junior” Trocci and Lauren Marchetti are the two main characters in this story, where Junior is from a dark world where he doesn’t get a shy bookworm like Lauren. That is, until opportunities land, but the question is, who will end up seducing whom?

Rosie O’Donnell Meets Grandson: ‘Best Day Ever’

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 9:20am

Rosie O’Donnell recently became a grandma…again. The actress and former talk show host posted a sweet black-and-white birth announcement on March 28, revealing that her son, BlakeO’Donnell, and his partner, Teresa, had welcomed baby boy Anthony Joel O’Donnell. As if that wasn’t enough O’Donnell clan cuteness, the beaming grandmother just added a new Instagram post featuring her newest little love.

The comedian shared a precious pic of herself holding baby Anthony, captioning it, “Best day ever. Met my grandson Anthony. Truly a beautiful child. I’m so proud of the happy parents Teresa and Blake.”

Fans and friends took to Instagram, posting their well-wishes for the new “nana.” Actress Ricki Lake gushed a chorus of “Yay’s” and added, “This makes me so happy.” Other commenters sent their love to the family, writing, “He’s beautiful Rosie. Congratulations to the happy parents and to you for being a Nana once again,” and, “Nana Ro Ro! What a lucky, beautiful baby boy. Congratulations!”

Of course, this isn’t Rosie’s first time being called “nana.” O’Donnell has four other grandchildren. Daughter Chelsea O’Donnell is mom to Skylar Rose (born December 2018), Riley (born January 2021), Avery Lynn (born February 2022), and Atlas (born October 2023).

Along with the sweet selfie, O’Donnell also posted a family photo with Balke, his baby, and two of Rosie’s other children—Clay (who she adopted with ex-wife Michelle Rounds and Vivi (who she shares with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter). The carousel of cuteness includes a shot of the family seated on a couch, as well as close-ups of her kids holding their new nephew, baby Anthony.

One fan reminisced in the comments section, writing, “Congratulations. It seems like only yesterday Blake entered the world. I remember it so well, from your TV show. What a full circle moment. Enjoy every minute of it.” And it looks like she certainly is!

The grandma-of-five also posted a series of snapshots featuring Blake and Anthony cuddling together. O’Donnell captioned the carousel, “My baby boy with his baby boy!!!” The congratulatory comments kept coming, with one fan writing, “He’s beautiful, Rosie, and you must be so proud as Grandma to tiny little Anthony,” and a future nana asking, “Does he remind you of Blake as a baby? I cannot wait to be a grandma! I mean…I look forward to it with my whole heart.”

8 Under-the-Radar Hotel Loyalty Programs to Watch in 2026

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 9:10am

If you’ve felt the sting of recent "devaluations" in your Hyatt or Marriott accounts, you aren't alone. As the "big four" move toward dynamic pricing, savvy travelers are looking elsewhere. According to Lori Zaino of Upgraded Points, "most major, mainstream loyalty program hotels... continue to devalue points or move toward dynamic pricing." Zaino notes that even the beloved World of Hyatt has revamped its award chart in a way that "increasingly feels like dynamic pricing in disguise." If you're ready to chase the deals rather than the status, here are 8 programs that offer a refreshing alternative to the corporate grind.

1. Accor Live Limitless (ALL)

Zaino is keeping a close eye on Accor, which manages iconic brands like Fairmont, Sofitel, and the boutique-chic Hoxton. She highlights its simplicity: "For every 2,000 points you redeem, you get about $47 off your stay." No confusing charts—just straightforward cash value.

2. I Prefer (Preferred Hotels & Resorts)

This program covers over 650 independent hotels. Zaino calls out a massive "sweet spot" with Citi ThankYou Points, which transfer at a 1:4 ratio. She explains: "For a 2-night stay at a hotel that costs 15,000 I Prefer points per night... you’d only need to transfer 7,500 Citi ThankYou Points."

3. Choice Privileges (The European "Cheat Code")

While often associated with budget road trips, Choice underwent a "mostly positive" revamp in 2026, adding a new Titanium tier. The secret? Using Choice points for high-end Nordic hotels or the Ascend Hotel Collection, where you can snag stays like the Icehotel in Sweden for a fraction of the cash price.

4. On a Lark Club (Lark Hotels)

For the New England obsessed, the On a Lark Club is a must. Lark (and their sister brand, Bluebird) has become the gold standard for curated, coastal design in places like Salem and Newport. Their program is delightfully old-school: every night earns you a point, and 20 points gets you a completely free night at any property—no blackout dates, just vibes.

5. Auberge ENVOY (Kennebunkport’s Finest)

If you’ve spent a weekend at the legendary White Barn Inn in Kennebunkport, you’ve experienced Auberge Resorts Collection. Their "ENVOY" program is the ultimate "if you know, you know" circle. It’s less about points and more about recognition—think surprise room upgrades, $100 resort credits for that world-class dining room, and "First Look" access to their most exclusive seasonal retreats.

6. Kimpton Inner Circle (IHG’s Secret Weapon)

While Kimpton is technically part of IHG, their Inner Circle tier remains one of the most loved "cult" programs in travel. It’s an invitation-only level for those who frequent Kimpton’s "un-hotel" spaces. Members get a "Chef’s Taste" (a free snack or drink) at every dinner and a guaranteed "Inner Circle" amenity that is personalized to your actual preferences—not just another bowl of fruit.

7. Dis-loyalty (The European Disruptor)

If you hate the "loyalty" game, join the Dis-loyalty collective. For a small monthly fee (roughly $18), you get 50% off just-opened hotels and 20% off your first stay at over 120 properties, including The Hoxton and 25hours Hotels. It’s the perfect program for the traveler who never wants to stay in the same place twice.

8. Logis Hotels (The French Hidden Gem)

If your spring travels take you to the French countryside, the ETIK program from Logis Hotels is the ultimate "local" hack. It’s a network of 2,000+ independent, family-run inns and restaurants. You earn a "loyalty check" as you spend, which can be used at any property. It’s the best way to ensure your "Paris to Provence" road trip stays authentic and budget-friendly.

Neil Patrick Harris Pens Thoughtful Foreword for ‘Into the Outerlands’ — Read an Excerpt (Exclusive)

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 9:01am

In November 2025, the first volume in the Ultimate OZ Universe was released. The in March 2026, AWA announced that a second volume could be released in August 2026. As we get closer to that month, we have an exciting reveal that Neil Patrick Harris has written the foreword.

Not just that, but we also have an excerpt from the foreword to share. It’s no secret that Harris is a fan of The Wizard of Oz, especially after 2012, when he and his whole family went all-out with costumes from the 1930s movie. However, his love for the universe goes way back before he had children of his own.

Courtesy of the Harris Family

Neil Patrick Harris Shares His Love for ‘Wizard of Oz’

Co-writer Larry King (alongside Fred Van Lente)and acclaimed artist Mike Deodato Jr. return to pen and illustrate the second volume in this graphic novel collection. Set in the world that Frank L. Baum created, Dorothy finds herself washed ashore on Outer OZ’s wild coast. It’s another corner of OZ lost to darkness, and this time due to the ruling of Princess Langwidere in Castle Ev.

This isn't a reimagining, but a canon-faithful story based on the novels by Baum. This is a chance to go into stories in a beautifully illustrated way, opening the world of Oz even more than imagined before.

While Elton John penned the foreword in The Lost Lands, Harris gets the opportunity to share his love for the universe of TheWizard of Oz, going back to his tween days, when he played Toto in the Ruidoso High School production of the play. He had actually gone to audition for a role of a munchkin, but production had a different idea for him.

“Because I was small and could sing, the organizers plucked me out of the crowd and cast me as Toto. Ahhh, the classic Hollywood story (or, in this case, New Mexico, but you get the idea)…And from that moment forward, two parallel paths — one the spirited journey of an acting career and the other a wondrous trip down the Yellow Brick Road — have been winding in front of me ever since.”

By Patricia Martin

He continued his journey on the stage with a production of Rent, which was how he met Kevin McCollum, the producer behind the AWA collection of graphic novels. His love to Oz is something he has passed onto his children in the way his parents passed it onto him, and his foreword goes into more details about the spin-offs he’s watched.

There’s no doubt that the magical world of Oz has captured the hearts of many, whether it’s through the 1939 movie, the Wicked universe, or even various versions of the story through TV shows like Once Upon a Time and Emerald City.

“The fact that Oz has endured with so many people across so many generations is a testament to the expansive world that Baum imagined. The book you hold in your hands — and indeed the whole Ultimate OZ Universe — honors that tradition, breathing new life into spectacular lands, as iconic characters work together to accomplish what none of them could do alone. Put simply, Into the Outerlands celebrates what makes OZ magical, capturing the wonder, courage, and strangeness that made us fall in love in the first place.”

By Mike Deodato

A Chance to Hold a Stunning Special Edition of ‘Into the Outerlands’

AWA has kicked off a marketing campaign for fans to get their hands on a deluxe collector’s edition. April 7, 2026, marks the last day to be part of the Kickstarter campaign, which includes a cabinet case collector’s edition featuring a gorgeous wraparound landscape. Esad Ribić returned to create the merchandise. Along with that cabinet case, there is a collectible puzzle and other surprises for the super fans getting in from the ground up.

Into the Outerlands will be officially released on Aug. 26, 2026, and you’ll be able to read the entire foreword by Neil Patrick Harris while immersing yourself into another adventure for Dorothy and her friends. It’s time to explore Oz in a way you’ve never been able to before.

’80s Sitcom Icon, With Best-Selling Books, Turns 74

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 9:00am

Marilu Henner, the beloved star of a classic ’80s sitcom and acclaimed author, celebrates her 74th birthday today, marking decades of charm, talent and influence.

Born on April 6, 1952, she was raised in an artistic household. Her mom ran a dance school in the garage while her uncle taught art classes upstairs.

From a young age, she was unlike other children. Her parents later discovered that she had Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory, also known as hyperthymesia.

People with this rare ability can vividly recall nearly every detail of their lives, according to Medical News Today.

Henner’s unique ability has been her key asset in her success, first as an actress and later as a best-selling author.

Marilu Henner Lands Her First Best Supporting Actress Nomination

Known for her versatility in acting, the Chicago native built a name for herself on Broadway and eventually on screen after landing an iconic role in ABC’s Taxi.

Premiered on Sept. 12, 1978, it became a nightly favorite among viewers, bringing laughter and heart to households, from the familiar scenarios to the memorable ensemble cast.

Lead stars include Judd Hirsch as the grounded driver Alex Reiger, Danny DeVito as the short-tempered dispatcher Louie De Palma and Henner, who played Elaine Nardo, the single mother and aspiring art gallery worker who also worked as a driver to make ends meet.

The show’s popularity also brought the sitcom multiple awards, including  Golden Globe nominations for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy, Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy and Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series for Henner, making this her first acting nod.

Her portrayal also landed her consecutive Golden Globe nominations from 1979 to 1983.

Not only did she receive back-to-back nominations, but working with the sitcom made her feel like it was her “second family.”

“I think what makes the show great is the feeling we all have for each other,” she told The Central New Jersey Home News in 1979 as cited by Catchy Comedy, adding, “We have such a good feeling for each other, and it carries through the air."

Unfortunately, the show ended after 114 episodes and five seasons; the sitcom bid goodbye to the airwaves on June 15, 1983.

On the other hand, Henner discovered a new career path after a personal tragedy, which led her to a radical lifestyle shift.

The death of her parents inspired her to prove that many health issues can be managed, leading her to undertake a lifestyle makeover centered on a strict and health-conscious diet that includes plant-based and dairy-free meals.

Moreover, she has leveraged this knowledge to write books on health, nutrition and memory.

In 1998, she published Total Health Makeover, which became her first book to reach the New York Times Best Seller list.

After her first major hit, Henner continued with more book releases, including The 30-Day Total Health Makeover, a follow-up to her first hit book and another New York Times bestselling book, Total Memory Makeover: Uncover Your Past, Take Charge of Your Future, published in 2012.

These birth dates are influenced by the planet of love, Venus. No other country song embodies their magnetic qualities quite like “Islands in the Stream.” People born on these dates can resonate with this harmonious song, capturing the essence of genuine romantic devotion. Expect to fall in love all over again with your beloved, crush, or partner when this song plays!

7th, 16th, or 25th - “Always on My Mind” by Willie Nelson

Let’s be honest: these heartfelt individuals tend to feel nostalgic when reminiscing about the past. Their birth dates align with the influence of Neptune, the sensitive and ethereal planet of empathy. As daydreamers, they often retreat into a bubble and a dreamlike state. Their vivid imagination maintains strong emotional connections to people from their past. The classic country song "Always on My Mind" by Willie Nelson resonates deeply with their soulful nature.

Born on the 8th, 17th, or 26th - “Deeper Well” by Kacey Musgraves

“Deeper Well” by Kacey Musgraves focuses on the Saturn return in astrology, a time of serious initiation into greater responsibility. Because Saturn is the planetary ruler of those born on the 8th, 17th, and 26th, this country tune fits these resilient birth dates perfectly. It explores themes of growth, evolution, and loss that maturing into our greatest selves can bring. Much like these old souls, its introspective lyrics illuminate the importance of honest, accountable self-reflection.

Born on the 9th, 18th, or 27th - “Burn It Down” by Parker McCollum

Hell hath no fury like anyone born on these dates when irritated. Ruled by warrior Mars, their fiery nature makes them eager to burn down what no longer serves like the namesake of this song. While they're devoted and will fight for who and what they love, they're also independent enough to walk away when needed, as this country track urges. Leaving the past behind and starting anew takes a lot of effort and gusto, all of which those who were on these days possess.

What Has Eden Said About Losing Close Friend, Loni Anderson?

Friendship is essential as we age, and Eden spoke out last year about how difficult it is to navigate life after the loss of her dear friend, Loni Anderson.

“I feel very lonely now that she’s not here,” Eden recently told Fox News Digital. “I miss her – I really miss her. I miss everything about Loni. She was just a very special, kind, sweet, good mother. You can’t say anything bad about her.”

Eden reflected on the first time she met Anderson, back in 1981. The duo was filming a Bob Hope special alongside legendary Dynasty star Linda Evans.

Are Barbara Eden and Morgan Fairchild Friends?

Yes! Fairchild, 76, rose to stardom on shows like Flamingo Road and Falcon Crest, and solidified her stature in Hollywood with guest-starring roles on iconic series like Murphy Brown and Roseanne. Together, the duo is stronger than ever! When Fairchild was busy strolling recently, she ran into Eden and wowed her followers with a stunning photo of the duo.

Calling her “one of the kindest, most gracious ladies in town,” Fairchild posed for a photo alongside Eden. Now that’s a set of blonde beauties! Naturally, the comments section went wild with replies, calling the lovely ladies “two amazing, beautiful women.”

Terry Crews' Wife Shares Parkinson's Diagnosis: 'I Feel Good'

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 8:31am

Terry Crews and wife Rebecca King Crews revealed that she has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease years after surviving breast cancer.

"I feel good," King Crews said during her Monday, April 6, appearance on Today. "I’m able to write my name and my dates, and I’m able to write with my right hand for the first time in probably three years."

According to the breast cancer survivor, she was first diagnosed in 2015, after first noticing symptoms in 2012. King Crews recently underwent a procedure to help with the symptoms on one side of her body.

"I'm seeing improvement in my symptoms. I'm still in recovery. They say it's about three months of recovery," she explained. "As you recover, you see more improvement."

The mother of five explained that as her symptoms improve on one side of her body, she has become more "aware" of the struggles on the other.

"However, each day that I do things, I'm aware of the benefit that it's already given to me on one side of my body. So I'm excited to do the other side," she told Craig Melvin. "I really believe that this procedure and others like it are the new frontier of medicine."

The non-invasive procedure was not covered by insurance, but she hopes to make it more available to others.

"I see this as the beginning of the journey," the America's Got Talent host said. "Because to watch her go through what's she's gone through over the last 10 or 12 years, has been very very hard...To watch her write her name for the first time in three years, let me tell you man," he added, becoming visibly emotional.

On This Day 96 Years Ago, Twinkies Were Officially Invented

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 8:24am

As the old adage goes, big things tend to have small beginnings, and such was certainly the case for the universally beloved snack cakes known the world over as Twinkies.

While commonly hailed as the top-selling treat from Hostess, Twinkies were originally invented on April 6, 1930 by baker James Alexander Dewar. The dish was initially created for the Continental Baking Company, combining a rich sponge cake with a banana cream filling.

Amidst the tumult of World World II, banana imports into the U.S. all but ceased, forcing the company to begin using vanilla cream filling instead. To their surprise, the vanilla cream proved far more popular than banana, boosting sales significantly for Twinkies.

As a result, vanilla became the new standard for the golden snack cakes, with different variations of the treat incorporating chocolate and various other fruit flavors over the past several decades.

According to legend, the name "Twinkies" originated from a billboard Dewar saw in St. Louis for "Twinkle Toe Shoes." Perhaps because the snack cake resembled a shoe (or more than likely because Dewar simply liked the wording), the name was quickly incorporated for the baker's new treat, paving the way to one of the most popular snacks ever created in the U.S.

While Twinkies have become universally beloved among international consumers today, the treat wasn't always the worldwide delight it's become today. In the 1980s, the hit blockbuster Ghostbusters helped spread awareness of the treat among global audiences, due to a key scene referencing "a big Twinkie" as an analogy for the rapid build-up of psychokinetic energy.

In addition to its references in numerous movies and TV shows over the years, the treat has also formed the basis for an unlikely legal defense known as the "the Twinkie defense." The term specifically originates from the criminal trial of Dan White, who attributed his murder to depression excaberated by junk food like Twinkies.

Criminal Mindsstar Matthew Gray Gubler is returning to CBS in this fall’s new series Einstein. He plays the title character, who like his Dr. Spencer Reid character from the hit procedural, is also a genius.

Einstein, described as "a drama with comedic undertones," is an adaptation of a German series by Andy Breckman, who created Monk, so he knows his way around brainy intellects with an eye to solving crimes.

When will Einstein air?

Einstein was originally slated for CBS’ Fall 2025-2026 schedule, but has since been moved to the 2026-2027 season because CBS had too many series on its schedule, so moving Einstein gave it additional time to be developed.

Lewis is described as “a popular professor at Princeton…when he actually shows up for class. Irreverent and misguided, Lewis’ genius and famous name weighs heavily on him but using his gift to help solve homicides may — finally — offer his life some direction and purpose.”

Deadline was first to report this cast change, describing the role of Teri as "sharp and disciplined, she demands a lot from her colleagues and even more from herself, and feels conflicted about working with Professor Einstein." Rosa Salazar was originally going to play the role, but when the series was delayed for a year, she opted not to have her option picked up.

Ellis-Taylor will star as Capt. Frost, who, according to Variety, is “a veteran police officer. She has logged ten thousand hours in the field and is counting the days until she retires with her partner.”

What is the storyline for Einstein?

The official synopsis reads: "Brilliant but directionless, the great-grandson of Albert Einstein spends his days as a comfortably tenured professor until his bad boy antics land him in trouble with the law and he is pressed into service helping a local police detective solve her most puzzling cases."

Social Media Users Notice Something Strange About New Photos of Nancy Guthrie’s Home

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 8:11am

New photos of Nancy Guthrie’s home are raising eyebrows online after appearing to show someone moving boxes from the property—but not everyone is convinced the images are real. Social media users quickly pointed out what they believe are signs of AI generation, including what looks like the same person appearing multiple times in a single image, sparking debate about the authenticity of the picture.

Looking closely at the photo, there appears to be three men carrying boxes out of the home. However, if you zoom in, all three men are nearly identical. Moreover, there are some inconsistencies with the front of Guthrie's home.

Did someone say people were moving boxes out of Nancy Gunthries house today? why? What if she comes back? I am so confused #nancyguthrie #whereisnancyguthrie #bringnancyguthriehome #nancyguthriekidnapping #whotooknancyguthrie #savannahguthrie #tucson pic.twitter.com/1o2ZvlgTeI

— Where is Nancy Guthrie? (@taylor_about13) April 5, 2026

It didn't take long for social media users to point out inconsistencies in the photo.

"Fake picture. Nancy’s sidewalk isn’t concrete," one person wrote.

"Omg this is AI," someone else said.

"That’s AI. All the men the men look alike and the one on the left doesn’t have legs. Besides, why would he carry boxes off the walkway," a third X user pointed out.

"This picture doesn’t look right it looks like the same guy holding the kitchen box and fragile box and what’s the guy with the box doing in the dirt?" a fourth comment read.

Guthrie, 84, has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1. Authorities believe that she was abducted from her Arizona home in the middle of the night. Despite ongoing efforts to locate Guthrie and find the person or persons responsible for her disappearance, the case remains open now 10 weeks in.

People live-streaming outside of Guthrie's home have witnessed boxes being taken out of the home, but it's been a few things here and there, and many believe that the family is taking some of Guthrie's personal items and belongings, perhaps for safe-keeping. There has been no indication that the home is being emptied or that it will be put up for sale.

Queen Elizabeth Urged Prince Harry to Wait on Meghan Markle Wedding, Royal Expert Claims

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 8:10am

Royal author Hugo Vickers says Queen Elizabeth advised Prince Harry to pause before marrying Meghan Markle, feeling their romance was moving too quickly.

In his new book Queen Elizabeth II: A Personal History, Vickers claimed that the monarch believed Harry needed to take more time to get to know Meghan before marrying her. She suggested that moving more slowly would help ensure their relationship was built on a solid foundation.

The Daily Mail excerpted Vickers' book. The author met the queen dozens of times, offering a revealing look at her life, drawing on rare insider accounts and decades of personal observation.

"My new book is based on 60 years of observation and research, at first from afar (rather like a trainspotter or stamp collector) but gradually closer to the centre and more focused," Vickers explained.

Parade Daily🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

"I was lucky to have first met the queen in 1968, when she came to look at the King George VI Memorial Chapel in St George’s Chapel. When I think back to that day, she is fixed in my mind as a young mother of 42, with auburn hair and a blue coat, and her young son, Prince Edward, held by the hand," he recalled.

Therefore, Vickers claims this rapport aided him in forging a stronger relationship with the monarch. He claimed that when Harry and Meghan revealed their intention to wed, the queen suggested they wait.

"The queen herself suggested that Harry should wait a year. He did not take her advice. Instead, as we know, the wedding went ahead just over six months after the couple’s engagement," he penned.

Jonathan Brady / POOL / AFP

"It was said that the queen did not like the dress; too white and with ungainly shoulders," Vickers wrote. "Someone close to the monarch told me her attitude to the actual wedding was: ‘You get on with it. It’s nothing to do with me.’"

Four years after they wed and welcomed a son, Archie, the couple welcomed a little girl named Lilibet Diana. Elizabeth reportedly bristled at the fact that Harry and Meghan used her "intimate family nickname" to name their daughter.

Vickers wrote, "To use the intimate family nickname for the queen, used only by close members of the family, was insensitive to say the least. They brought their children along to visit the queen, who again considered it prudent to have a lady in waiting present."

The couple's official birth announcement read, "Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales."

Hugo Vickers new book Queen Elizabeth II: A Personal History hits bookstores on April 9, 2026.

Disneyland Just Banned Phones and Stanley Cups on These Popular Rides

Mon, 04/06/2026 - 8:10am

When a favorite Disneyland attraction suddenly goes dark mid-day, the usual suspects are mechanical failures or a stray sensor. But a surprising new data point reveals that the "ghosts in the machine" are often the guests themselves.

During a recent media briefing reported by Mickey Visit, Natalie Katzka, Director of Attractions Engineering Services at Disneyland, shared that in fiscal year 2025, "13% of ride shutdowns were caused by guest behavior," a notable jump from the historical average of 10%.

The issue isn’t just bad manners; it’s physics. Katzka noted that these incidents often involve "guests' loose articles, such as phones, mouse ears, water bottles, or backpacks, falling from a ride vehicle in motion." In the eyes of the engineering team, these are "unnecessary, preventable circumstances" that lead to multi-hour delays and frustrating evacuations.

To combat the trend, Disneyland has implemented two major rule changes this spring to "help guests help themselves."

Related: Disneyland Is Dropping Its Most Frustrating Rule—And Fans Are Calling It a Total Game-Changer

The Phone Ban on Runaway Railway

At Disneyland Park, the "no phones" policy on Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is now strictly enforced. While the ride appears gentle, its trackless technology is incredibly sensitive. A dropped phone on a flat floor can be run over by a following vehicle, causing serious damage to the sensitive underside of the cars. Now, "cast members won't start the ride if a guest has their phone in their lap or otherwise not stowed in a secure place."

Related: Disneyland Tokyo is Officially Building the Most Expensive Attraction in Disney History

The "Stanley Cup" Shelf at Incredicoaster

Over at Disney California Adventure, the surge in popularity of oversized, insulated water bottles—specifically heavy brands like Stanley—has created a new safety hazard on the Incredicoaster. At 55 mph and upside down, a 2-pound metal bottle becomes a dangerous projectile. Disney’s solution? Guests can "no longer ride Incredicoaster with loose water bottles," and a dedicated shelf has been installed at the loading station for riders to leave their drinkware behind before they launch.

By getting ahead of these common missteps, Disney hopes to increase "uptime" and ensure that a stray phone doesn't ruin the magic for hundreds of other guests in line.

Universal Orlando’s New 2026 Locker Rules

While Disneyland is testing new shelves and phone bans, Universal Epic Universe has taken guest behavior and safety to a high-tech extreme. As you plan your trip, keep in mind that "loose article" rules at Universal are far stricter than Disney's.

At Epic Universe, three major rides—Monsters Unchained, Hiccup's Wing Gliders and Stardust Racers—require all loose items to be placed in lockers before you board. But the flagship coaster, Stardust Racers, takes security to a new level. Much like VelociCoaster and The Incredible Hulk Coaster, you must pass through a metal detector pre-boarding. This means absolutely nothing in your pockets—not even your phone or keys.

The 2026 upgrade? Facial Recognition Lockers. At Epic Universe, you no longer need to carry a paper ticket or your phone to open your locker. The system scans your face to assign and open your unit, ensuring that "loose articles" (including your ticket) stay securely stowed while you're pulling high G-forces.
