Former James Bond Casting Director Shares Her Vision for the Next 007

Fri, 07/10/2026 - 1:33pm

James Bond fans just got another intriguing update in the ongoing search for the next 007.

Speaking Friday, July 10, at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, former James Bond casting director Debbie McWilliams — who cast the past 14 Bond films — shared her thoughts on the future of cinema's most famous spy while reflecting on the franchise she helped shape, according to Variety.

When asked whether James Bond could be portrayed by a woman or a person of color, McWilliams offered a straightforward answer.

"Not in my opinion. No," she said. “Ian Fleming wrote a character, and that’s the character that stays. That’s what I think. I mean, other people might think otherwise, but I don’t think that.”

Although Amazon MGM Studios has not announced its next James Bond, fan speculation has centered on actors including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, James Norton, Harris Dickinson, Jacob Elordi and Paul Mescal. Former contender Idris Elba has repeatedly said he isn't interested in taking on the role, while Lashana Lynch made franchise history by portraying MI6 agent Nomi, who temporarily inherited the 007 designation in No Time to Die.

McWilliams also revealed that she initially wasn't convinced Daniel Craig — dubbed the Blonde Bond by critics for making history as the first blonde actor to take on the role — was the right choice for Casino Royale until producer Barbara Broccoli insisted on meeting him. That decision ultimately ushered in one of the franchise's most successful eras.

With a new creative team in place and speculation reaching a fever pitch, Bond fans may not have to wait much longer to learn who will receive the world's most famous license to kill.

Still, McWilliams may not be grabbing her popcorn for the new iteration of Bond, adding, “You know, it’s about to change dramatically, is all I can say. And I’m not sure whether I’ll be paying my money to go and see it or not.”

Garth Brooks Sends Clear Message to Fans Hoping to Catch Him on the Road

Fri, 07/10/2026 - 1:19pm

Concertgoers have felt the sting of rising ticket prices for years, but now one of country music's biggest stars is acknowledging just how difficult it has become for fans to afford a night out.

Country music icon Garth Brooks is opening up about the challenge as he prepares to return to the road with his upcoming Blame It All On My Roots Tour.

"Let's talk for a moment about the cost to go to a concert," Brooks said, according to a news update posted to his official website on Friday, July 10. "There's the ticket price. Currently, the average country concert ticket price is $175. That's the average. Dang! You never go alone, so double it, at least. Parking? Want a T-shirt or two? Maybe dinner? You are looking at one expensive evening."

"Affordability is always the question," he continued. "And that's more challenging today than it has ever been in my career. "Did I think in the '90s that $20, $50 was a lot of money? You bet. Do I think $20 or $50 is still a lot of money? Yes, I do. With that said, touring costs are not the same as they were in the '90s. Hell, on the Comeback Tour, I saw in some cities that parking cost more than tickets."

View this post on Instagram

Brooks' comments come just days after he announced his upcoming tour. Along with the news, Brooks also confirmed that every ticket will cost $154 (plus applicable fees), regardless of section. So, whether you're in the front row or in the third level, you will pay the same price (unless you purchase a ticket that is up for resale).

In his update, Brooks said that he's heard many of his fans say that they'd love to see him on tour but they simply cannot afford it.

"I believe it is my job to try to make the number of people who say that as small as possible," Brooks said.

Brooks' first two tour dates are on Aug. 21 and 22 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Those tickets will go on sale on July 17 at 10 a.m. Eastern. The "Friends in Low Places" singer is expected to announce additional tour dates soon.

One of Horror’s Biggest Franchises Is Leaving Netflix After Just 4 Months

Fri, 07/10/2026 - 1:15pm

Sorry, horror fans! It looks like the genre is taking a major kick on Netflix come Sunday, July 19.

The Saw franchise — consisting of Jigsaw (2017), Raven Song (2023), Saw (2004), Saw II (2005) Saw III (2006), Saw IV (2007), Saw V (2008), Saw VI (2009), Saw: The Final Chapter (2010), and Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021) — will be leaving the streaming giant after just four months.

The Saw franchise became available to stream on Netflix on Thursday, March 19.

So, will the 10 terrifying flicks start streaming elsewhere? As of the date of publication, the entire Saw franchise isn’t streaming anywhere else. However, you can buy/rent the movies on various platforms, like Prime Video or Apple TV.

Created by Australian filmmakers James Wan and Leigh Whannell, Saw debuted in 2004 and starred Cary Elwes and Leigh Whannell as two men trapped in one of Jigsaw Killer’s deadly games.

Since then, the franchise has amassed a huge fanbase, many of whom praise the films as some of the greatest that the genre has ever seen.

Taking to a Reddit forum in 2025, movie lovers debated over this question: “Do you agree that Saw is the greatest horror movie franchise of all time? Yes, no, or why?”

“Actually, yes. I could watch Saw 1-7 over and over again. It's comfort viewing. Jigsaw was OK … Spiral wasn't really SawSaw X was a very decent film, especially the start to when the games begin. But none of the last three additions are terrible. Overall, I feel Saw is the most consistent horror franchise in terms of quality and continuity,” one viewer argued.

“Probably not the greatest, but it is one of my favorites by far. Namely because of the twists, characters, music, actors, and look and feel,” added another, while a third person chimed in, “I don't just because I feel like you can't make a contest of art. Did it scare me the most? Yes. Do I love it the most? Also, yes.”

Billboard Just Called This 1983 Smash 'an Absolute One-of-One in Pop History'

Fri, 07/10/2026 - 1:13pm

In 1983, Bonnie Tyler released a power ballad that seemed almost too big for pop radio.

More than four decades later, Billboard believes that may be exactly why "Total Eclipse of the Heart" still stands apart.

In a newly published retrospective honoring Tyler following her death at age 75 on July 8, the publication called her signature hit "an absolute one-of-one in pop history," arguing that few Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 songs have ever been as distinctive or instantly recognizable.

According to Billboard, "Total Eclipse of the Heart" became far more than an early MTV-era hit. The publication described it as a power ballad, heartbreak anthem and karaoke staple that has carved out "a place in pop music history entirely its own," adding that "nobody would ever confuse it for any other song."

That singular status, Billboard argues, came from the unique pairing of songwriter and producer Jim Steinman with Tyler's unmistakable raspy voice. Steinman wrote the song as a showcase for Tyler after the two began working together in the early 1980s, creating a dramatic, emotionally oversized recording that became unlike anything else on pop radio.

Released as the lead single from Faster Than the Speed of Night, "Total Eclipse of the Heart" spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and finished 1983 as Billboard's No. 6 song of the year. Although the original recording ran more than seven minutes, it was edited to about four and a half minutes for radio before becoming Tyler's biggest career hit.

Its popularity has only grown with time. The song has sold more than 13 million copies worldwide, surpassed one billion streams on Spotify  and topped digital sales charts again during the 2024 total solar eclipse, proving that its appeal stretches well beyond the era in which it was recorded.

Billboard also noted another remarkable distinction: more than 40 years after its release, "Total Eclipse of the Heart" remains the only song by a Welsh artist ever to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, another reason the publication considers it truly one of a kind.

Following Tyler's death on July 8 after complications from a prolonged illness, tributes poured in from across the music world, including messages from Bryan Adams, Sir Cliff Richard,Kevin Bacon and the Prince and Princess of Wales, plus a live performance by Rod Stewart of one of her other iconic hits "It's a Heartache," all honoring the singer whose voice helped turn one of pop's most dramatic recordings into an enduring classic.

'Widow's Bay' Star Dale Dickey Shares Hilarious Reaction to First Ever Emmy Nomination: 'Dear God in Heaven, What the Hell Just Happened?'

Fri, 07/10/2026 - 12:59pm

Dale Dickey has enjoyed a long and successful career in the entertainment industry, capped off by plenty of critical acclaim and prestigious awards within the field.

But even the 64-year-old Dickey herself is shocked that she's received her first-ever Emmy nomination for her role in Apple TV's Widow's Bay.

Referencing her recent Emmy nomination, Dickey kicked off her conversation with Vulture by saying, “Dear God in heaven, what the hell just happened?”

Continuing on, the former Breaking Bad actress then went on to proclaim, "Nobody is more shocked and surprised than me.”

As fans will readily recall, Dickey plays the hilarious town gossip of Widow's Bay, Rosemary, who frequently butts heads with the town's well-meaning mayor (Matthew Rhys).

Throughout her time on the show, Dickey earned a place among fans with her deadpan humor and standoffish personality, leading to frequently humorous moments opposite some of the show's more energetic cast members.

Recounting the way in which she learned of her nomination, Dickey said she was casually looking across the Emmy's announcements when she saw her name appear in the listing.

"After I watched it, I knew there was some love for Widow’s Bay and I was very ecstatic, so I went on my computer and I thought, Okay, I’ll just scroll through the rest of them. And I’m scrolling and I get to Supporting Actors in a Comedy, and as I’m scrolling, I see my f**king face — excuse my language — but I’m like, 'No, why is that … What?!'"

While Dickey said she wasn't surprised to see her cast mate, Kate O'Flynn, earn a nomination, seeing her own name on the Emmy's list proved as something of a shock.

"I mean, look, I thoroughly expected and knew that Kate would be on the list, and she’s got my vote if I could vote in my category," Dickey explained. "But it was out of left field for me."

Trump Administration Halts Longstanding Plan to Put Harriet Tubman on the $20 Bill

Fri, 07/10/2026 - 12:58pm

A decade ago, a plan was launched to put Harriet Tubman’s face on the $20 bill. However, it appears that is no longer happening.

Spectrum News reports that the Trump Administration has abandoned the plans, instead deciding to keep Andrew Jackson on the front and a photo of the White House on the back.

Tubman was an American abolitionist who helped conduct 13 missions on the Underground Railroad that freed around 70 slaves. She also served as an advocate for women's voting rights after slavery was abolished.

As for Jackson, he was the seventh President of the United States and favored slavery.

In 2016, President Barack Obama’s Treasury Secretary Jack Lew shared a letter to the public in which he first talked about the change where the front of the $20 bill would have Tubman’s face, while the back would be Jackson and a photo of the White House. At first, they planned to release the new bill in 2020.

This would have made Tubman both the first woman on an American Bill as well as the first Black individual.

However, during Trump's presidential campaign that same year, he spoke out against it, calling the plan “pure political correctness.” During his first term, he pushed the plan back to 2026. Then, when Joe Biden was elected, it was once again pushed back to 2030.

Recently, when asked by Spectrum News about the plans regarding Tubman and the $20 bill, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that they do not currently intend to do so. The outlet further added that they reached out to the White House, asking if President Trump had directed the Treasury Department to end these plans.

Beloved '80s Artist, 70, Blows Fans Away With Haunting Performance of Sleeper Hit: 'What a Voice He Has'

Fri, 07/10/2026 - 12:50pm

Getting tickets to see an "older" artist is always a gamble. Will they be able to bring the same energy they had in their youth? Are they going to play the songs we know and love? Can they even still sing? In the case of Chris Isaak, 70, a recent performance confirmed all three questions can be answered with a resounding yes.

Currently, Isaak is touring Europe, performing at various festivals across the continent in some of its most legendary venues. Isaak recently performed his iconic hit "Wicked Game" at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, UK, and it completely knocked the socks off unsuspecting concertgoers. To say jaws were on the floor is an understatement.

@ukcountrynews

What a night at @bridgewaterhall , Manchester with the one and only @Chris Isaak . Our first time seeing Chris live, and all I can say is… wow. He was absolutely phenomenal. Not only is he an incredibly gifted musician and vocalist, but he’s genuinely hilarious too, keeping the audience laughing between songs with his quick wit and stories. One of the things I loved most was just how effortlessly he and his band performed together. You can tell they’ve played together for years – every musician had their chance to shine, and Chris made sure to give them their moment. It felt like watching a masterclass in live performance. And then there’s that voice… I always love it when an artist sounds just like their records, and Chris Isaak somehow sounds every bit as good live. Hearing “Wicked Game” performed in person was simply unforgettable. If you’ve still got the chance to catch the final UK date tomorrow night at @demontforthall , Leicester, there appear to be a handful of tickets still available. If you’re even remotely thinking about it… go. You won’t regret it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Remaining European dates: July 8 - Leicester, UK July 13 - Essen, GER July 16 - Carcassonne, FR #chrisisaak #wickedgame #bridgewaterhall #manchester #nashville

"What a voice he has," proclaimed one fan.

"Wow, still sounds absolutely fantastic," another noted.

"I saw him years ago in London when he was top of the charts. Oh my, he was wonderful, so glad he still has it," confirmed another.

'Wicked Game' Has Endured

At the time of its release, the now-iconic song didn't do much for listeners or critics on its own. According to Far Out Magazine, Isaak initially disagreed with the tracking of the song off his 1989 album, Heart Shaped World. In particular, he was put off by the now-beloved guitar riff written by James Calvin Wilsey. Once Isaak saw it picking up steam in the studio, however, he whipped up lyrics haunting enough to match the eerie guitar.

Ironically, it was that melancholy riff that caught director David Lynch's ear, so much so that he put an instrumental version of it into his film Wild at Heart. The guitar work became so recognizable that people started hunting down the vocal track, and it shot to No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2019, the song actually shot to No. 1 on the digital charts after it was covered on The Voice. In total, it spent 24 weeks on the hot chart during its original run.

“There was a girl on the way over,” Isaak said during a February 1991 interview, Rolling Stonereports. “It was one of those things where they call, they say, ‘I’m comin’ over.’ You know you shouldn’t, but you let ’em. Hang up the phone and go, ‘Oh, no. Now we’re gonna be in trouble.’”

It is inarguable that the song was made whole and interesting by that riff, but unfortunately, Wilsey still didn't get his flowers after Isaak did. Isaak is publicly credited as the sole songwriter behind the 1989 hit "Wicked Game," and Wilsey’s deep-seated resentment grew over being treated as a replaceable "sideman" rather than an equal co-creator. He was never given a writing credit.

The issue ultimately fractured his 12-year partnership with Isaak, triggering a dark, heartbreaking descent into depression and severe substance abuse. By 2013, he’d developed hepatitis C and cirrhosis of the liver, and he tragically passed away in 2018.

Country cool meets cult-favorite drinkware in Stanley 1913’s newest celebrity collaboration—and it might be the brand's most stylish drop yet.

Just when it seemed like Stanley had done it all, the hydration giant is saddling up with eight-time Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves for a limited-edition capsule collection that feels straight out of the Texas frontier—with a modern twist.

Inspired by Musgraves’ sixth studio album, Middle of Nowhere, the four-piece Stanley 1913 x Kacey Musgraves Collection blends vintage Western style with the brand’s signature everyday functionality. Think cowhide prints, translucent details, custom cattle-brand “KM” logos and collectible charms that make these pieces feel just as display-worthy as they are practical.

“I’ve been wanting to partner with Stanley 1913 for ages,” Musgraves said in a press release shared directly with Parade. “It’s been fun collaborating on a collection that reflects my personal aesthetic; blending modern and traditional, and something I actually use every day whether I’m hydrating in the studio, preparing for tour, or surviving the occasional dry spell.”

The latest lineup of drinkware and essentials "thoughtfully balances rustic charm and contemporary craftsmanship," the notice added, with the brand promising to "push industry boundaries and spur cultural conversation through originality, inventiveness, and authenticity."

Stanley 1913 Teams Up With Country Songstress Kacey Musgraves for New Western Chic Collection

  • 16-ounce Everyday Suburban Mug ($45): A travel-friendly mug with an easy-carry handle designed for life on the go.

The Quencher ProTour and Everyday Suburban Mug also include removable charm sets featuring artwork inspired by Middle of Nowhere, along with a Texas star, silver concho and vegan leather tassel for an unmistakably Western finish.

According to the beloved lifestyle company, the campaign celebrates Musgraves’ Texas roots, laid-back personality and genre-bending career, pairing nostalgic backdrops with an intentionally unpolished, behind-the-scenes aesthetic that reflects authenticity over perfection.

The limited-edition Stanley 1913 x Kacey Musgraves Collection launches July 14 at 9 a.m. PT, exclusively online via Stanley’s website.

The speculation began when Morris shared an Instagram carousel on Tuesday, July 7, which featured a photo getting close with Pope. Pope later reposted the image to her Instagram Stories, joking, "Trying to get bb to move here, everyone help."

If that wasn't enough to convince fans, Pope, 36, followed it up with another Story showing the pair kissing, alongside the playful caption, "she won’t go out with you because she’s out with me, silly."

It’s safe to say fans were sent into a frenzy online.

is this actually happening?!?!? bc i would die pic.twitter.com/k7sqB8daLM

— ethan (@ethansflavor) July 7, 2026

“EXCUSE ME???? OH MY GOD,” one wrote on X.

Another said, “So here for this!!,” while a third replied, “I’m going to collapse.”

Longtime fans will know that the singers have known each other for years. They were photographed together in 2019 at the 54th Academy of Country Music Awards Cumulus, and Pope later joined Morris as an opening act on her Girl: The World Tour. They also publicly stood together in 2022 during a widely discussed social media dispute with Brittany Aldean over comments about the transgender community.

The apparent relationship comes after a period of major personal change for Morris. Following her divorce from fellow country singer Ryan Hurd, she came out as bisexual in 2024 with a Pride Month post that read, "Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+." The post has since been deleted.

And professionally, Morris is also preparing for a new chapter. During a July 3 appearance on Today, the 36-year-old revealed she'll be stepping away from touring after wrapping up her current dreamGirl Tour. "This is sort of my last tour for a bit, because I want to be able to free-think more and be in the studio more, and just figure out what I want to say next," she explained.

Her plans include spending more time with her 6-year-old son, Hayes, as he starts kindergarten, while exploring new creative opportunities—including her longtime dream of writing for Broadway.

Legendary Metal Singer, Ranked the Genre's Best Ever, Would Have Turned 84 Today

Fri, 07/10/2026 - 12:33pm

A true pioneer of the metal genre, Ronnie James Dio would have celebrated his 84th birthday today. The legendary vocalist paved the way for metal singing with his iconic stage presence and incredible body of work, fronting iconic bands such as Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and Dio.

Dio influenced more than just vocals, as he is often credited with originating the legendary "devil horns" gesture that has become synonymous with rock and heavy metal. Over the years, Dio has seen massive amounts of acclaim, with him being named the "best metal singer" at the 2010 Revolver Golden Gods Awards, and ranked as the greatest metal singer by journalist Sacha Jenkins in the "Merciless Book of Metal Lists."

Dio unfortunately passed away from stomach cancer in 2010. This tragedy has turned into some triumph however, as the Dio Cancer Fund was founded in his honor to raise money for those in the same situation he was. Today, the foundation wished a happy birthday to their namesake.

"Long live Ronnie James Dio" is right. There's no doubt that all your favorite metal musicians owe a great debt of thanks to him for all the incredible work he did to push the genre forward. Albums like "Rising," "Heaven and Hell," and "Holy Diver" are some of the most important records ever in the story of heavy metal.

Fans took to the comments of the birthday post to celebrate the life and legacy of one of music's most influential figures.

"Mighty God of Music we love you! Happy birthday! 🔥🤘❤️🎂"

"The greatest of all time. ❤️ Happy birthday Dio! 🤘"

"Sending you the happiest birthday wishes up in heaven. You are deeply missed! 🤘🤘❤️"

Dio left an undeniable mark on the music world. Today, we celebrate and remember all the fantastic music he created!

'90s Rock Band Announces New Album 33 Years After Forming

Fri, 07/10/2026 - 12:29pm

More than three decades after forming, Fuel is preparing to add another chapter to its catalog.

The veteran rock band has announced that its seventh studio album, Pendulum, will be released on Oct. 30. The news arrived alongside the debut of the album's lead single, "Want It," which is available now on streaming platforms.

The band shared the announcement with fans on Instagram, writing:

"'Want It' is out now. 🔥 Our seventh studio album, Pendulum, arrives October 30. Stream 'Want It' now and pre-save Pendulum at the link in bio. 🤘"

The upcoming release marks Fuel's first studio album since 2021’s Ånomåly, continuing the band's legacy more than 33 years after it first came together in Tennessee in 1993.

"You're always trying to outdo your last record," guitarist Carl Bell told Guitar Thrills in 2021. "Trying to outdo yourself.  Trying to write the best songs you can write.  At the end of the day, it's about the songs."

Fuel rose to prominence during the late 1990s and early 2000s with a string of mainstream rock hits that helped define the post-grunge era. Songs such as "Shimmer," "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)," "Bad Day," "Falls on Me" and "Won't Back Down" earned heavy radio airplay while establishing the group as one of the era's most recognizable rock acts.

Among those songs, "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" remains the band’s signature hit. The single spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart and has become one of the most enduring rock songs of the early 2000s.

"If you write about what happened to you and what has happened in your life, it kind of comes through in a song and people will understand that," Bell told Guitar Player.

Despite lineup changes over the years, Fuel has continued recording and touring, maintaining a loyal fan base while introducing new music alongside the classics. The announcement of Pendulum signals that the band isn't simply relying on nostalgia but is continuing to expand its catalog more than three decades into its career.

With "Want It" serving as the first preview of the new album, fans now have their first glimpse of Fuel's next musical chapter. As Pendulum arrives this fall, the release will mark another milestone for a band that has remained a fixture of modern rock since the early 1990s.

Ryanair Passenger Nearly Sucked Out of Plane Window On Flight From Greece

Fri, 07/10/2026 - 12:26pm

A passenger on Ryanair was sucked halfway out of a window on Friday, July 10, during a flight from Greece to Germany.

The man was pulled out, head-first, after the window broke shortly after takeoff and was up to his shoulder, according to Greek public broadcaster ERT. Other passengers held him down, stopping him from being dragged out the window any further.

The plane was forced to return to Thessaloniki in Greece, where the man was treated for shock and other injuries, ERT reported. Other passengers were transferred to another flight.

“A Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki to Memmingen on Friday morning (10 July) returned to Thessaloniki shortly after take-off when a passenger window dislodged inflight. The aircraft landed normally, and passengers returned to the terminal," a statement from Ryanair to CNN said. “One passenger requested and received medical assistance on the ground in Thessaloniki. In order to minimise any delay, a replacement aircraft was arranged to bring passengers to Memmingen, which departed Thessaloniki at 9:53 local this morning.”

CNN further reports that an investigation has been launched by the Hellenic Air and Rail Safety Investigation Authority (HARSIA).

A few passengers spoke with Radio Thessaloniki about the incident.

"When the oxygen masks dropped, we had no idea what was going to happen. We didn't know whether we would make it back. We were sitting at the back of the aircraft, and we realised there had been some kind of explosion," a passenger named Sofia said. "We thought the plane was going down. The decompression was extreme. It felt like we couldn't breathe. The man who was injured was bleeding and then lost consciousness several times, most likely because of the lack of oxygen and the shock."

"We immediately realised there had been a decompression. There were screams... for a moment I thought someone had accidentally opened the emergency door," another passenger named Christina added. "The masks dropped, and there was a strong smell. The head and shoulders of one passenger were outside the window. Fortunately, he hadn't taken off his seat belt."

Test Your Knowledge of ‘90s Women in Music With Olivia Rodrigo on This Game Show

Fri, 07/10/2026 - 12:21pm

Olivia Rodrigo turned a Jeopardy! guest spot into a love letter to the women who shaped her. The pop star appeared on the latest episode to introduce a special “Women in Music” category, teasing that the clues would spotlight “some of the amazing singers who have inspired me.” Rodrigo went on to reference Beyoncé, Gwen Stefani, Alanis Morissette, St. Vincent, and Sarah McLachlan’s all-female Lilith Fair festival; each one tied to a defining moment in her own musical journey.

For her Beyoncé clue, Rodrigo pointed to the superstar’s 2010 Grammys performance of “If I Were a Boy,” which she said she watched “over and over.” It’s a moment she’s referenced before. (*In a 2022 interview with People, she recalled watching it roughly 25 times, adding that she hoped to one day inspire a younger fan the same way.)

Rodrigo’s Stefani clue leaned on their shared California roots, but the connection runs deeper. She joined Stefani onstage in June during No Doubt’s Sphere residency in Las Vegas, after holding up a sign requesting “the last hug at the last Sphere show.” The two also performed “Bathwater” together at Coachella in 2024.

Her nod to Alanis Morissette was more direct, calling the singer-songwriter her “icon” and crediting Jagged Little Pill with changing her life - echoing sentiments she shared in 2021, when she and Morissette appeared together on this magazine’s Musicians on Musicians cover.

Additional appearances already confirmed for the group include shows in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic later in the year.

Suffocation are also scheduled to appear at Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio, and Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Florida during the 2026 festival season.

The band was formed in 1989 in Centereach, New York, and became one of the defining names in death metal during the early 1990s. Their 1991 debut album, Effigy of the Forgotten, is widely recognized as one of the genre's landmark releases and helped shape technical death metal for future generations of bands.

The current lineup features guitarist Terrance Hobbs, bassist Derek Boyer, guitarist Charlie Errigo and vocalist Ricky Myers.

The tour announcement comes several months after drummer Eric Morotti exited the band after ten years as a member.

Morotti announced his departure in April, writing:

"Today. On my. Birthday. I have chosen to step away from Suffocation to prolong my health, myself. My integrity. I will not work with toxic. Abusive drug addicts. Let alone allow them to boss me around. I've been belittled and stepped all over for too long."

Suffocation later issued a response disputing those claims and stated that the decision to part ways was made by the band because of scheduling conflicts, as shared by Metal Insider.

The group said:

"Last week, the decision was made by Suffocation to part ways with Eric Morotti due to his conflicting schedule with Sanguisugabogg, which affected Suffocation's schedule for the year."

The statement continued:

"It is unfortunate that Eric decided to falsify claims and take this to a negative place forcing us to make this statement. Regardless, we wish him nothing but the best of luck on his future endeavors."

Following Morotti's departure, Suffocation announced that Origin drummer John Longstreth would join the band as a special guest performer for select 2026 appearances.

With a packed touring calendar and a new European headline run now confirmed, Suffocation are preparing for another busy year on the road nearly four decades after first forming on Long Island.

Watch Tommy Lee and Joe Rogan Lose It Over Rick Springfield’s Viral Shirtless Performance of ‘Jessie’s Girl’

Fri, 07/10/2026 - 11:54am

Tommy Lee recently appeared on Joe Rogan’s ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast, and both of these celebs went nuts over an unexpected performance.

Obviously, the Motley Crue drummer had plenty to say about music and performers. But it was Rogan who brought up an ‘80s icon. The host took out his phone and said to Lee, “You want to see something f***ing inspirational? I’m going to show you something crazy…Have you seen Rick Springfield lately? I’m going to send you a video, and it’s going to blow you away. This is literally bananas.”

He continues, “This is Rick Springfield. He’s 76-years-old. 76. 76 and he’s singing ‘Jessie’s Girl’ like he just wrote it.”

And what is Lee’s response to the now-viral clip of a shirtless Springfield on stage? Two simple words…”He’s ripped!”

As the Springfield frenzy grows, Rogan adds, “First of all, he looks f***ing incredible. Like he’s working out every day or something. I mean, I don’t even understand it. He looks like a 30-year-old guy. And he’s singing the song like he just wrote it. Bro, 76…That’s crazy.”

After watching more of Springfield’s absolutely jaw-dropping performance, Lee says, “That’s inspirational.” Rogan agrees, sharing, “The passion and enthusiasm is what kills me. This is not a guy who’s just like going out there and going through the motions. He’s singing that song like he just wrote it.”

But the Rick Springfield fan fest doesn’t end there. Rogan keeps on going, “A lot of people when they’re 76 are basically waiting to die. This dude’s on stage with no shirt on, crushing life.”

And if you’re wondering what Lee thinks life will be like in his mid-70’s, the 63-year-old tells Rogan, “I love it. I love it. That’s gonna be me still 10 years from now.”

He added, “I remember in the ‘80s, there were no old rock stars. Like no one was out there touring who was an old rock star.  And then the Stones released a new album. I think it was like ‘88 or ‘89, and everybody was like, ‘Wow, they’re going to tour again?’ It was almost like, ‘Aren’t they done with this?’ Like, they’re older now. And then it started being a thing, where a bunch of older gyts would like go out on tour that hadn’t been on tour in a while. And now it’s like, ‘Why are we retiring? Like why would I stop doing the most amazing thing that a human being ever gets to do?”

Lee replied, “That’s the best man, you gotta love that. And I think that, I don’t know, if you call it a resurgence or just that style of, like, there’s certain things that were really great that have stood the test of time.”

Tommy Lee and Joe Rogan aren't the only ones who were totally fanning out over Springfield’s performance. When the musician shared a clip of the now-legendary shirtless rendition of ‘Jessie’s Girl’ on his Instagram page, fans flocked to the post, losing it over the 76-year-old and writing comments such as, “Only time I’d consider a 70-year-old as a 50-year-old, definitely optimizing life! Shows passion is everything!”, “Amazing. His voice sounds great too! “ All the jealous Rick haters of the 80’s, take that!” and “Good lord, he’s hotter than ever!” Goes to show age doesn’t mean a thing!”
