Wanda K. Roach
Wanda K. Roach, age 66, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.
Wanda Kay was born on August 7, 1951 to the late George and Dorothy (Bierey) Bartle, in Franklin County, MO. She grew up in the Concord Hill and Villa Ridge area; She also lived in Marthasville and attended Washington High School for a period of time. Wanda graduated from Sullivan High School class of 1969. She was united in marriage to Larry Roach on August 29, 1972 and three children were born to their marriage, Shannon, Travis and Tammy. Wanda continued her education after her children were grown, becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant and an EMT; however, the job she loved the most was driving a school bus for the Sullivan School District. She loved the Vo Tech Students and really missed them when she became ill and had to retire. Wanda was known as the “Cat Lady” by her family. She loved her three cats, Baby, Bootsie and Sam. Wanda was a member and attended New Testament Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Roach of Sullivan; three children, Shannon Roach and wife Stacie of Sullivan, Travis Roach and partner, James Beeson of Portland, OR and Tammy Roach of Sullivan; six grandchildren, Felicia, Brandon, Casey, Emilee and Abbey Roach and Brianna Franklin; one great-grandchild, Kayonie Jones; one brother, Gary Bartle of Sullivan; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorothy Bartle; one brother, Tommy Bartle; one sister, Kathy Bartle and two sisters-in-law, Mary Bartle and April Voss.
A Memorial Service was conducted 1 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018 at New Testament Baptist Church in Sullivan. The Roach family received friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, at New Testament Baptist Church.
All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan and Bourbon, MO.
