Virgil ‘Butch’ Lee Walker

Virgil “Butch” Lee Walker, 67, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.

Virgil Lee was born on June 4, 1950 to the late Albert Ray and Ethel Francis (Thompson) Walker in Washington, MO.

“Butch” was his nick name and what most of his friends and family called him. He was united in marriage to Rosemary McCallister on July 6, 1968 and they were blessed with five children. Butch was employed by Brown Shoe for over 20 years, Pea Ridge Mine as a custodian and Meramec Caverns as a security guard. What he really enjoyed doing was logging, cutting wood and just being out in the woods. Butch was a guitar player and as a young man played in his own band. He really liked to play and sing for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also, in his young days he liked to race cars and watch scary movies with Rosemary. Rosemary preceded him in death in 2016 and Butch never got over losing her. They are reunited again. Butch loved his family dearly and loved spending time with them.

Butch is survived by his five children, Tina Osborne of Piedmont; Steven Walker of Potosi; Tammy Walker and companion Bill Davis of Potosi; Tonya Reed and husband Steve of Bourbon; and Amanda Perfetti and husband Nick of Sullivan; sixteen grandchildren, Billy Osborne, Jr., Jennifer Osborne, Tiffany Reed, Dylan Osborne, Patrick Reed, Kayla Walker, Felicia Reed, Jasmine Davis, Steven Walker, Constance Davis, Amber Acosta, Brianna Davis, Jacob Walker, Justin Reed and Nicole and Helena Perfetti; six great-grandchildren, Brooklynn and Lochlyn Zook , Joseph Walker, Katalina Osborne, Kamden Bray and Layla Osborne; one brother, Robert Walker and wife Bonnie of Stanton; one sister, Mary Jane Korman of Washington; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosemary Walker; his parents, Albert and Ethel (Thompson) Walker; two sisters, Virginia Schieble and Darlene Estel and a half brother, Bill Hammon.

Visitation was held from 4:30-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Cremation followed.
