Timothy L. Hammonds, 59, of Saint James, MO, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2020 at Barnes Jewish Hospital – Saint Louis. 

Timothy Lee Hammonds was born in St. Louis, MO, Dec. 9, 1961, to Charles and Opal (Parker) Hammonds. Tim grew up and attended school in Saint Clair and Pacific. He began his trucking career as a young man and continued throughout the entirety of his life. 

Tim met the love of his life, Elizabeth Edwards, in 1998 and together they blended their families and were united in marriage in 2012. Tim loved all kinds of music and was always generous of his time. He was a dedicated father to his children and was known as “everyone’s dad.” Tim especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and being their “Papa Hamms.” He loved teasing the kids and made a lasting impact on their lives forever. 

Tim was a socialite and had many friends. He often enjoyed “swapping” with them and having coffee. He recently fulfilled his dream of starting his very own trucking company, Hammonds & Sons Trucking, this past summer. 

Tim is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Hammonds, of Saint James, MO; four daughters: Jewel “Christina” Cowsert and fiancé, Chad Morgan, of Union, MO, Susan Carrigan and husband, Shawn “Brian”, of Rolla, MO, Tiffany Meadows and husband, Jason, of Pacific, MO, and Deborah Hammonds of Pacific, MO; three sons: Timothy Hammonds, Jr., of Pacific, MO, Samuel Hammonds of Saint James, MO, and Jacob Hammonds of Saint James, MO; eleven grandchildren: Caitlyn, Mason, Brenden, Landen, Shawna, Madison, Chloe, Riley, Haylee, Devon and Holly; five brothers: Gary Hammonds and wife, Phyllis, of Cuba, MO, Richard Hammonds of Richwoods, MO, Terry Hammonds of Mountain Home, AR, Michael Hammonds of Sullivan, MO, and Charles Hammonds of Martinsville, IN; two sisters: Cheryl Miller and her significant other, James Lewis, of Saint Clair, MO, and Linda Harbin of Michigan; a brother-in-law, Will Edwards and wife, Melissa, of Bourbon, MO; a sister-in-law, Emma Edwards of Bourbon, MO; parents-in-law, Ruth and Sam Edwards of Salem, MO; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Bethany Hammonds; and his parents, Charles and Opal Hammonds. 

A Memorial Service for Tim was 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor John Blackmore officiating. Inurnment followed at Sligo Cemetery – Salem.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, prior to the Memorial Service at Eaton Funeral Home.
