Thomas L. Easter

Thomas L. Easter, 92, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.

Thomas Leonard Easter was born on November 25, 1925 to the late Thomas Edgar Easter and Pauline (Thomas) Easter in Kirkwood, MO. He grew up and attended school in Kirkwood, MO and then went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Army from July 10, 1944 to October 29, 1946.; he was part of the first wave of soldiers at Okinawa Landing. Thomas was united in marriage to Anna Faye Epley on September 9, 1947 in Sullivan. To this union, a son was born, Tommy Joe Easter. They made their home in Sullivan and Thomas went to work for the State Highway Department in 1948. He retired from the Highway Department in 1989, after many years of service as a senior inspector. Thomas was very active with the Sullivan Church of Christ and Tri County Church of Christ, he was an amateur horticulturist, a die-hard Cardinals fan and a member of the Knot Hole Gang. Most of all, Thomas was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be forever missed.

Thomas is survived by one son, Tommy J. Easter of Sullivan, MO; two sisters, Esther McIntosh of Houston, TX; and Evelyn Fish of Lake Charles, LA; one grandson, T.J. Easter of Sullivan, MO; one great granddaughter, Ellaina M. Easter; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Faye; grandson, John Easter, one brother, Leland “Pete” Easter; and three sisters, Ellen Livelle, Edna Wehner and Thelma Ogg.

Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Funeral Services were conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
