Thomas D. Kohler, age 56 of Leasburg, MO passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

Thomas was born on March 8, 1964 and was adopted by Dean and Norma Jean Kohler.  He grew up and attended school in Paola, Kansas graduating in the class of 1982. Thomas enlisted in the Army National Guard while still in high school and honorably served is country in both the US Army & Navy. After his military service, Thomas was united in marriage to Jeanne Riley on July 4, 1990 near the Alley Spring Eminence area. To their union three children were added to the family, Tim, Jamie and Tammy. Together they raised their family in Summersville. Tim owned and operated TJ’s Computing for over 15 years specializing in robotics, computing, repair and engineering. Thomas retired in 2017 due to declining health. 

Thomas enjoyed magic cards, comic books, video games, programming, building webpages and loved watching YouTube. He was always filled with quick wit and an unmatched sense of humor. Thomas enjoyed fishing, outdoors, time spent with family and especially his grandchildren. He was known as an overcomer of hardships in his life and was known to keep everyone on their toes and in check.  

Thomas is survived by his wife, Jeanne Kohler of Leasburg, MO; three children, Timothy Riley and wife, Pamela of Willow Springs, MO, Tammy Fiske and husband, James of Summersville, MO, Jamie Goodfellow and husband, Tony of Leasburg, MO; parents, Dean and Edith Kohler of Paola, Kansas; 12 grandchildren, Shiyanne , Alexis, Kaitlynn, Braxsten, Ashley and Kaylee Riley, Tabitha Locke and husband, Brian, Alex Fiske, Bret Racicot and wife, Katie, Bailey Racicot, Conner Goodfellow and Danny Woods; two great-grandchildren, Easton Racicot and Colton Wilson; two brothers, Mike Kohler of Minnesota and Joel Heis of North Dakota; five sisters, Denise Kohler Smith and husband, Keith of Cottonwood, AZ, Dory Munnell Clark and husband, Mike of Minnesota, Patricia Mummell Kvale of Minnesota, Carol White of Minnesota and Peggy Mummell and significant other, Jimmy of Minnesota; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Leisinger; one brother, Joe Munnell; four grandparents: Marion and Forest Kohler and Louis and Grace Leisinger; two sisters- in- law, Tara Rodgers and Gail Roberts - Heis; one grandchild, William Goodfellow; and an infant sister, Jolene Kohler.

Cremation services have taken place, there will be no services at this time. 

Memorials to the Kohler Family and the ALS Foundation are appreciated.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
