Terry J. Lawson

Terry Jon Lawson, 69, of Cuba, MO, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan.

Terry Jon Lawson was born on October 2, 1948 to Robert Edward and Mabel Joan (Lazalier) Lawson in St. Louis, MO. He grew up and attended school in St. Louis and went on to attend one year of college before entering the Army Airborne Rangers. Terry was honorably discharged after serving in Vietnam. He came back to Missouri and went to work for his Uncle as a roofer. In 1982, he moved to California and managed several storage facilities. Terry was a caregiver to many in his family throughout the years. In 2012, Terry came back to Missouri to be near his sisters. He bought a house and ended up settling in Cuba. Terry enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing and shooting craps. He was known for smoking his pipe and taking long drives. Terry will be missed by his family and friends.

Terry is survived by his mother, Mabel Joan (Lazalier) Lawson of Cuba, MO; three brothers, Randall Edward Lawson of Las Vegas, NV; Ricky Lee Lawson (Terry Ann) of Victorville, CA; and Robert Dale Lawson of Victorville, CA; two sisters, Carol Sue Lawson and Clara Lucinda “Cindy Lou” Benscoter both of Cuba, MO; special niece, Jonni Joan Houser (special friend, Dennis L. Wools) of Cuba, MO; Franki Sue Houser of Cuba, MO and Leesa Marie Soden of Bonne Terre, MO; special nephew, Tommy Lee Lawson of San Diego, CA; special friends, Richard and Cheryl Gonzalez of Apple Valley, CA; numerous other nieces and nephews and relatives.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Lawson.

Graveside service will be held at a later date.
