Sylvia Loher

Sylvia (Bindner) Loher, 92, of Bourbon, MO, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Life Care Center in Sullivan, MO.

Sylvia was born on March 12, 1925 to George Bindner, Jr. and Julia Ann (Voss) Bindner in Bourbon, MO. She attended Old Argo Grade School and graduated from Sullivan High School. Sylvia was employed for eleven years at Paramount Headwear in Bourbon, as an inspector. Sylvia had two great loves, her family’s farm and her church, Holy Martyrs. She loved her cattle and at one time, she had 60 head and two bulls. Sylvia was a dedicated member of Holy Martyrs church; she served on the cemetery board and cooked many funeral dinners. She also coached volleyball at St. Anthony and kept the trophies from their wins for all these years. Sylvia was also an avid Cardinal’s Fan.

Sylvia is survived by her sister, Loraine Payne of Aurora, CO; two nephews, Howard Payne, Jr. and wife Jani of Ashburn, VA and Larry Payne and wife Kathy of Westerville, OH; great-nephews, Troy Payne and wife Barb of Fredrick, CO; Greg Payne and wife Glenda of Bradley, IL; nieces, Deydra Bassett and husband Dan of Grand Junction, CO and JoAnn Payne of Bothell, WA; other relatives and many friends.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, George Bindner, Jr. and Julia Ann (Voss) Bindner; brother in law, Howard Payne, Sr.; niece, Ivoretta Payne and great-nephew, Jeff Payne.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Holy Martyrs of Japan Catholic Church with interment in Holy Martyrs Cemetery.

Masses to Holy Martyrs are appreciated.
