Stephan R. Brendel, 58, of Bourbon, MO, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 at his home.

Stephan Ralph, “Steve” to his family and friends, was born on November 23, 1958 to Francis and Mary Dorothy (Page) Brendel in Rolla, MO. As a child, Steve was full of fun and mischief. Much like his father Francis, Steve could fix anything. At age nineteen, Steve joined the United States Army and served his country from 1977 to 1980. While serving, he took an extended leave, touring Europe and helping his troops out of “Big Trouble”. He then ran the family business, Brendel Sheet Metal, and also worked for the Sullivan Special Road District and Mid-West Industries for many years. Steve enjoyed time spent hunting, fishing and being outdoors. The whole family enjoyed the many stories he had to tell of his great adventures. Steve was truly a caring person who would help anyone in a bind and will be missed by his son, Stevie and all of his sisters.

Steve is survived by his son, Steve Brendel of Bourbon, MO; grandson, Mason Brendel; four sisters, Frances Hunter and husband Larry of Cuba, MO; Christine Padula of NJ; Annette Adams and husband Russ of St. James, MO; Carolyn Hertel of Bourbon, MO; aunt, Bernice Brendel of Spring Bluff, MO; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Mary Dorothy (Page) Brendel; and beloved sister, Kathryn Samrad.

A Celebration of Life Gathering was held from 5-8 p.m., Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Full Military Honors.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan and Bourbon, MO.
