Scott E. Gaehle, 61, of Union, MO, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Washington.

Scott was born in Kirkwood, MO, Nov. 1, 1959, to Alvin Alroy and Shirley Mae (Gilmore) Gaehle. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy, aboard the USS Kitty Hawk, from April 3, 1980 to August 1, 1984. Scott was employed in the plastics manufacturing industry for most of his working career; however, he very much enjoyed working at Jellystone Campground, where he was able to be outdoors. Scott was a quiet man who mostly stayed to himself. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and knives. He was loved by his family and will be missed.

Scott is survived by one brother, Dennis Gaehle of Pacific, MO; one sister, Sheila Pogue and husband, Bob, of Washington, MO; three nieces: Kim Bartley and husband, Bill, of Union, MO, Kris Ferris and husband, Tim, of Beaufort, MO, and Kari Huff and husband, Matt, of New, Haven, MO; five great nephews; one great niece; and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Shirley Gaehle.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, with Pastor John Blackmore officiating. Full military honors will be performed.
