Ronald L. Harris
Ronald L. Harris, 87, of Bourbon, MO, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 at SSM Health St. Clare – Fenton.
Ronald Lee was born in Leadwood, MO, on October 19, 1932, to the late William John and Mary E. (Henderson) Harris. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956.
Ronald was united in marriage to Frances Ione Bishop on June 28, 1952. She preceded him in death on February 3, 2006. Ronald lived in the Sullivan/Bourbon area and worked as a custodian for the Bourbon High School. He retired from there after many years.
Ronald was well liked by all who knew him. Some of his hobbies included hunting and fishing. Ronald loved the Lord and attended New Life of Hope Church in Sullivan.
Ron is survived by his son, Dennis “Michael” Pennington of Bourbon, MO; two granddaughters, Cynthia Mitchem and husband, Mark, of Bourbon, MO and Jane Lusty of Union, MO; two great-grandchildren, April Ramsey of Bourbon, MO and Tanner Lusty of Union, MO; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; two daughters, Debra Harris and Rebecca “Kim” Ledbetter; his parents, William and Mary Harris; one great-grandson, Austin Lusty; three brothers: Charles, James (Jay) and Carl Harris; and two sisters, Opal Miller and Hilda Bradley.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Tina Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in I. O.O. F. Memorial Cemetery, with full military honors.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, prior to the funeral service at Eaton Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions in Ron’s memory may be made to New Life of Hope Church in Sullivan.
