Robert L. Coffman, age 73, of Sullivan, MO passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Meramec Nursing Center of Sullivan.

Robert Lee was born on June 25, 1946 in Manitowoc, WI, the son of Arvin and Evelyn (Mrotek) Coffman. He grew up and attended grade school in Mountain Grove, MO, but attended high school in Sacramento, CA, graduating in 1965. Robert moved back to MO and met the love of his life, Joyce Nethington. They were united in marriage on December 28, 1968 and together they raised three children, Jack, Becky and Rob in Sullivan. Robert was a true mechanic and loved anything that had to do with engines. He spent many years working at Meramec Industries and Ditch Witch, until retiring in 2008. Robert truly enjoyed the outdoors. His faith became the foundation of his life in his later years when he and Joyce became members of New Testament Baptist Church. Robert loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce (Nethington) Coffman of Sullivan; three children: Jack Shepherd and wife Jenna of Cuba, MO, Becky Halfaker and husband Doug of Sullivan, Rob Coffman and wife Leslie of Leasburg, MO; his mother, Evelyn Coffman of Sullivan; two brothers, James M. Coffman and wife Angie of Fairfield, CA and Peter E. Coffman of Ramona, CA; three sisters: Marilyn Moore and husband Bill of Fort Mohave, AZ, Marjorie Hansen of Quilcene, WA and Catherine Coffman of Eugene, OR; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arvin A. Coffman; and a sister, Janet Coffman. 

Funeral Services were conducted 12 Noon, Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at New Testament Baptist Church in Sullivan, officiated by Pastors David Wright and Josh Wright. Interment followed in Boone Creek Cemetery in Bourbon.

Visitation was held prior to the funeral service, Wednesday, from 10 a.m.– 12 Noon, at New Testament Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to New Testament Baptist Church.
