Robert L. ‘Bob’ Roussin
Robert L. “Bob” Roussin, 84, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Bob was born on November 19, 1935 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Nelson Goettel and Martha Elizabeth (Mattox) Roussin. He grew up in St. John, MO and graduated from Ritenour High School in 1954. He was a born-again Christian who loved his Lord and Savior. Bob was employed by McDonnell Douglas as a storekeeper and project planner for more than 30 years. He was very proud of the fact that he played a role in Projects Mercury and Gemini. Following his retirement, Bob enjoyed traveling, bowling, and anything to do with trains and airplanes. He spent countless hours at Creve Coeur Airport helping restore vintage airplanes and preparing planes for air shows. Bob was always ready and willing to take to the skies if offered a plane ride. He enjoyed meeting new people and made new friends everywhere he went. Bob enjoyed a good life and will be missed by his family and friends.
Bob is survived by three children: Christine Roussin of Sullivan, MO, Susan Ryan of Sullivan, MO, and Daniel Roussin of Lonedell, MO; four grandchildren: Jamie Ryan (Gabrielle Rawson) of Pevely, MO, Jennifer Ryan (James Harris) of Sullivan, MO, Matthew Ryan and wife Aly of Temple, TX, and Douglas Roussin of St. Clair, MO; five great-grandchildren: Brighton, Jude, Prudence, Teagan, and Easton; one brother, Harold Roussin and wife Helen of Sullivan, MO; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffery Roussin; a granddaughter, Lisa Ingram; his parents, Nelson and Martha Roussin; his wife, Vi Roussin; and one sister, Sandra Geer.
Mr. Roussin will be cremated, per his request, there will be no services.
Memorials to Shriners Hospitals for Children in memory of Robert Roussin are appreciated.
