Robert Gerald Romine

Robert G. Romine, 92, of Bourbon, MO, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Life Care Center of Sullivan, MO.

Robert Gerald Romine was born on July 15, 1925, son of the late Walter and Florence (Goodacre) Romine in Dillon, MO. He grew up and attended Oak Ridge Elementary School in Chesterfield, MO and several others. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from July 1944 to June 1946. He served in France and Germany during WW II. On September 5, 1952, Robert was united in marriage to Helen Leona Ridgley at the Antioch Baptist Church in Chesterfield, MO. They resided in Kirkwood, MO for twenty years. Robert attended and was baptized at the Kirkwood Baptist Church.

Robert’s first job was as a carpenter for Apex Construction. He then worked for his brother Ralph, before Helen and him started the Robert G. Romine Building Company. They built many homes in Kirkwood, MO. Later, they moved to Pacific, MO where Robert and Helen owned and operated Country Aire Mobile Home Park for fifteen years, until his retirement in 1984. Upon retirement, they moved to Sullivan, MO and spent their winters in Holiday, FL.

Robert will be missed dearly by his family and closest friends.

Robert is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Helen L. (Ridgley) Romine; one daughter, Judy Meyer and husband Mark of Lake Crystal, MN; one son, Terry Robert Romine of Potosi, MO; four grandchildren, Terry Daniel Romine (Stephanie Yocum) of Villa Ridge, MO; Chelsea Ankeny and husband Jacob of Tampa, FL; Whitney Meyer of Minneapolis, MN; Nolan Meyer of Minneapolis, MN; three great grandchildren, Ryan Romine, Mila Ankeny and Jada Ankeny; one brother, William “Bill” Romine and wife Betty of FL; one sister, Patsy “Pat” (Wisniewski) Harris and husband Bob of Fenton, MO; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George, Ralph and Donald Jack; three sisters, Dorothea Blanner, Helen Arft and Norma Glenn.

Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.

Visitation will be held from 9:30- 11 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
