Robert G. Armistead, Jr.

Rooster Armistead, 55, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at his home.

Robert G. Armistead, Jr., known as Rooster, was born on July 4, 1961 in Rolla, MO to Robert Glenn Armistead, Sr. and Athea Lee (Sprague) Armistead. He graduated from Sullivan High School and worked in the construction trade for various businesses, including Layne Western Drilling Company. Rooster co-owned and operated Rooster’s Bar and Grill in Stanton, for which he was very proud. Rooster enjoyed coaching little league, camping, hunting, fishing and hanging out at the river. He was loved by his family and many friends and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Lee Armistead of Sullivan; his son, Jarrod Hunter of Bourbon; two brothers, Tom Armistead and wife Shelley of Sullivan and Joe Armistead and wife Teri of Columbia; two sisters, Donna Ulsh of Sullivan; Laura Richards and husband Larry of Bourbon; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends.

Rooster was preceded in death by his father, Robert Glenn Armistead, Sr.

Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with cremation following.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m., Monday, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
