Richard S. King, Sr., age 72, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Richard Stanley was born on March 27, 1947 in Leasburg, MO, the son of Dock Walton and Nannie Jemimah (Ray) King. He attended grade school in Leasburg, and high school in Bourbon, graduating with the class of 1966. Just out of high school, Richard was employed by Steelweld Equipment in St. Clair. He honorably served his country in the United States Army with the 90th Replacement Battalion in Vietnam. In 1973, Richard went to work for the Chrysler Corporation and remained there for 31 years, retiring in 2004. After retirement, Richard and Becky enjoyed traveling and spending time together. First and foremost, he was a man of God. Richard was a member of Full Gospel Assembly of God in Sullivan, and served as a Deacon, as well as many other areas of the church. He loved participating in all church activities. Outside of church, Richard’s hobbies included hunting and fishing, working in his yard, going to yard sales and spending time with his family. He was a jokester who loved to laugh and have a good time. Today, Richard is rejoicing with his Savior in heaven. 

Richard is survived by his wife, Rebecca King of Sullivan, MO; his three children: Teri Graham and husband Brian of Sullivan, MO, Paul King and wife Sandra of Bourbon, MO and Susan King of Branson, MO; four grandchildren: Isaiah Graham, Emma Graham, Asher King and Solomon King; one step-grandchild, Chase Graham; two step-great-grandchildren, Jaden and Isabelle; six brothers: Jerry King and wife Joan of Bourbon, MO, James King of Leasburg, MO, Bud King and wife Terry of Bourbon, MO, William King and wife Cindy of Cuba, MO, Bruce King and wife Julie of Leasburg, MO and Brent King and wife Denice of Leasburg, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Richard King, Jr.; his parents, Dock and Nannie King; and one brother, Melbourne King. 

Funeral services were 11 a.m., Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Full Gospel Assembly of God in Sullivan, officiated by Pastor Ryan Martin. Interment followed in I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery in Sullivan. 

Visitation was held 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
