Richard L. “Ricky” Roberts, age 65, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 at his home in Fenton, MO, surrounded by his loving family.
Richard Lee, known as Ricky, was born on November 3, 1953 in Sullivan, MO, the son of Arless Emerson Roberts, Sr. and Orpha Marie (King) Roberts. He attended and graduated from Sullivan High School, Class of 1972. Ricky took courses in banking and was employed by Mercantile Bank for 25 years. Ricky and his partner, Ted, were blessed with 18 years together. They enjoyed taking drives in the country and antiquing. Ricky loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was also known to cook for them and loved using his Mom’s recipes. Ricky loved decorating for Christmas and having everyone over for a holiday meal. He was known to have a great sense of humor and will be forever in the hearts of his family and many friends.
Ricky is survived by his partner, Ted Stevenson of Fenton, MO; three siblings: Arless Emerson Roberts, Jr. and wife, Peggy, of Bourbon, MO, Dale Roberts and wife, Val, of Washington, MO, and Nancy Mann and husband, James, of Quinlan, TX; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arless Sr. and Orpha (King) Roberts; one brother, James Roberts; and in-laws, Tom and Mary Stevenson.
A Memorial Service for Ricky was conducted 1 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Burial of his cremains followed in Cave Spring Cemetery in Sullivan.
A Gathering of Family and Friends was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
