Richard C. Terry

Richard C. Terry, age 64 of Stanton, Missouri passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital, Fenton, Missouri.

Richard C. Terry was born on May 16, 1953 to Richard O. and Betty J. (Hinks) Terry at Sullivan, Missouri. Richard attended Sullivan Schools and honorably served his country in the United States Army. Richard was united in marriage to Rita Capostagno on December 17, 1977 and two sons were born to their union, Richard and Carl. Rita preceded Richard in death on May 27, 2013. Mr. Terry was a hardworking man and was employed by the Franklin County Highway Department for 37 years. He was a simple man, very well read, and a good provider. He enjoyed riding four wheelers, blacksmithing and firearms. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

Richard is survived by two sons, Richard E. Terry of Stanton and Carl Terry of Sullivan; two sisters, Jane McClary and husband Ron of Bourbon and Linda S. Terry of Stanton; nephew Robert O. Stoops of Springfield, MO; great-nephew, Elijah Stoops of Springfield, MO; aunt, Mary Sue McElroy and husband Charles of Benton, Arkansas; special cousin, Butch Terry and wife Linda of Stanton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Terry; parents, Richard O. and Betty J. (Hinks) Terry.

Graveside services were conducted at 4 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 at Stanton Cemetery with Pastor Grady O’Dell officiating.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan and Bourbon, Missouri.
