Rev. Bob G. Huffman
Rev. Bob G. Huffman, 79, of Villa Ridge, MO, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at his home, due to natural causes.
Robert was born on June 10, 1938 to the late George M. and Dorothy M. (Lauerman) Huffman in East St. Louis. He grew up and graduated from Belleville West High School. On June 15, 1957, Bob was united in marriage to Javine Witcher in East St. Louis. Of this union, came their four children: Stephen, Roberta, Brenda and Dale. Bob worked the Railroad for ten years, he was a southern Baptist minister for forty-four years and he pastored at churches in Illinois, Arkansas and Missouri. He went to Missouri Baptist College for two years and then Ouachita Baptist University for his Bachelors of Arts in Religion. Then, he went two years at Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. Bob also enjoyed to DJ church radio programs, he was a hospital chaplain and he loved to walk 5 to 6 miles a day. He will be missed dearly by his family and closest friends.
Rev. Huffman is survived by his wife, Javine (Witcher) Huffman, one son, Stephen R. Huffman and wife Julie of Bates City, MO; two daughters, Roberta J. Marsch and husband Terry of Union, MO; Brenda K. Brawley and husband Kurt of Villa Ridge, MO; six grandchildren, Elisabeth Brawley Miller, Hannah Marsch, Jenna Brawley Boss, Beka Brawley, Ian Huffman and Sarah Marsch; other relatives and friends.
Rev. Huffman was preceded in death by one son, Dale K. Huffman and his parents, George M. and Dorothy M. (Lauerman) Huffman.
Graveside services were conducted at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Dice Cemetery in Fairview, MO.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m., Monday, July 24, 2017 at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO. A second visitation was held from 12 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Newtonia Baptist Church in Stark City, MO. 375 Morgan St., Stark City, MO 64866.
