Paul L. Sappington, Sr. of Bourbon, MO, was born on Saturday, December 17, 1938 in Butts, MO to Farris E. Sappington and Birdie Velma Mathews Sappington. He passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at the age of 79 years, 4 months, and 20 days,
Paul served his country honorably in the United States Army. He married Diane Walls on October 22, 1988 in Leasburg, MO. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, Leasburg, MO. He farmed most of his adult life and liked to fish, run his fox hounds, hunt deer and turkey. He also enjoyed playing Texas Hold’Em and playing pool.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bud Sappington and sister Darlene Voss.
He is survived by his wife Diane Sappington of Bourbon, MO; children Vicki Wilson of Bourbon, MO, Beth (Scott) Everett of Henderson, TN, Shelley (Mike) Jannings of Bourbon, MO, Lisa Crawford of San Antonio, TX, Paul "Sonny" (Missy) Sappington, Jr. of Bourbon, MO, Carmen Tweety of Grubville, MO, and Anna Sappington of Leasburg, MO; stepson Claude Eddie Byrd of Diamond, MO; brother-in-law Bill Voss of Florissant, MO; sister-in-law Norma Sappington of St. Charles, MO; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Living Word Church, Leasburg, MO and Funeral Service was at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Living Word Church, Leasburg, MO with Pastor Jim Delacourt and Pastor Jimmy Delacourt officiating.Burial at Crossroads Cemetery, Leasburg, MO with full military honors.
