Patricia T. Burke

Patricia T. Burke, age 76 of Sullivan, MO, passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 at SSM Health St. Clare – Fenton.

Patricia Theresa was born in Salem, Massachusetts, on February 7, 1944, to Arthur J. and Leona (Simard) Talbot. She was united in marriage to Phillip Alan Burke on October 3, 1965, and they were blessed with two daughters, Sharon and Kelley.

Patricia attended East Central College in Union and graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree, a Bachelor of Arts and Psychology (Magna Cum Laude) from UMR, and a teaching certificate in Social Studies from UMSL. She was employed as a social studies teacher for the Bourbon School District and then as a para-professional at Sullivan High School for 20 years.

Patricia was a very active volunteer in her community and church, St. Anthony Catholic, where she served on the school board. She also served as President of the Jaycee’s in the 1970’s, President of Business and Professional Women’s Association, co-founder of the Sullivan Encore Music Association, co-coached softball and delivered Meals on Wheels, up until recently.

Pat is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Phillip A. Burke of Sullivan, MO; two daughters, Sharon Nauman and husband John of O’Fallon, MO, and Kelley Burke and companion, Joe Roberson, of Sullivan, MO; two grandchildren, Zachary and Nicholas Nauman, both of O’Fallon, MO; one brother, Arthur Talbot and wife Carol of Marblehead, MA; one sister, Linda Peterson and husband Don of Rockledge, FL; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Leona Talbot.

Cremation services have taken place. Services will be held at a later date.
