Nellie Loraine Studdard, age 85, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.

Nellie was born on March 30, 1934 in Fanning, MO, the daughter of Herman and Bessie (Pyatt) Gruver. She attended school in Cuba, MO. Nellie was united in marriage to Harold E. Studdard on November 20, 1954 and they were blessed with five sons: Harold Jr., Herman, Calvin, Roger and Randy. Nellie loved her family and enjoyed cooking and caring for them. She especially enjoyed cooking for the holidays; Chicken and Dumplings was her specialty. In her free time, Nellie enjoyed quilting and putting puzzles together. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Nellie was of the Pentecostal faith and had professed her faith in Christ and was a devoted Christian.  

Nellie is survived by her children: Harold Studdard, Jr. and friend, Diana, of Sullivan, MO, Herman Studdard and wife, Mary, of Sullivan, MO, Calvin Studdard of Sullivan, MO, Roger Studdard and wife, Vickie, of Sullivan, MO, and Randy Studdard and wife, Kathy, of Ste. Genevieve, MO; 14 grandchildren: Matthew Studdard, Sarah Simmons, Amanda Thacker, Laurel Studdard, James Studdard, Joseph Studdard, Angie Crady, Clarisa Hulsey, Crista Parker, Roger Studdard, Jr., Donald Studdard, Ryan Studdard, Michael Bauer and Russell Webery; 22 great-grandchildren: Connor, Deagen, Caitlyn, Cameron, Garrett, Gabriel, Gavin, Max, Easton, Christian, Scarlett, Crimson, Samuel, Sydney, Aribella, Asher, Dylan, Jade, Paul, Allie, Mylie and Lane; one brother, Jack Gruver and wife, Sharon, of Cuba, MO; four sisters: Louise Lause of Cuba, MO, Arlene Rayle of De Soto, MO, Betty Hutchison and husband, Leroy, of Cuba, MO, and Shirley Gruver of De Soto, MO; two sisters-in-law, Sue Gruver and Verna Gruver, both of Cuba, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Studdard; her parents, Herman and Bessie (Pyatt) Gruver; two brothers, Herman Gruver and James Gruver; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Lause and Granville Rayle. 

Funeral services were conducted 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, officiated by Pastor Chester Lahmann. Interment followed in Reedville Cemetery, Sullivan, MO. 

Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
