Nancy Bass, age 79, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Frene Valley in Owensville, MO. 

Nancy Nora Lee was born on February 11, 1939 to the late Charles and Frances (Fortner) Lawrence, in Japan, MO. She grew up and attended school in Japan and Sullivan. Nancy married Warner “Sam” Bass in 1956 and to this union, four children were born; Christina, Patricia, Michelle and Ralph. They raised their family in Spring Bluff. Nancy worked at several manufacturing companies over the years, as well as working independently as a Home Health Aide to help the elderly. She also ran and operated an ice cream truck. Nancy enjoyed dancing, camping, fishing, crocheting, gardening and raising her mums. She had accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at Spring Bluff Baptist Church. Nancy was also a member of the Eagles and was involved at the VFW. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Nancy is survived by her four children: Christina Wigger and husband Tom of Japan, MO, Patricia LaPlant and husband Darrell of Sullivan, Michelle Head and husband Tracy of Sullivan, and Ralph “Sammy” Bass of Gasconade, MO; one brother, Robert Lawrence and wife Sue of Spring Bluff, MO; one sister, Cleo Hempel and husband Jim of Sullivan; 14 grandchildren: Angie Henderson and husband Dale of Rosebud, MO, Justin Wigger and wife Kelsey of Cuba, MO, Bobby Helton of Sullivan, Mandy Keogh and husband Matt of Sullivan, Derrick Wigger and wife Jennifer of Cuba, MO, Tonya York of Ozark, MO, Tara Epperson and husband Ethan of Sullivan, Adam Bass of Kansas City, Samantha Bass of Columbia, Brittany DeBrecht and husband Andrew of Sullivan, Tyson Head and fiancé Shania Branson of Lee’s Summit, MO, Logan, Cailie and Sophie Head, all of Sullivan; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Frances (Fortner) Lawrence; an infant sister; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral Services were conducted 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home, with Pastor Chester Lahmann as the officiant. Cremation took place following the service.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
