Mae Berniece Farrar, nee Harris, of Sullivan, MO, formerly of Steelville, MO passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 at the age of 92 years, 4 months and 5 days. She was born September 12, 1927 in Cherryville, MO to Willy Jefferson Harris and Velma Anderson Harris.

After many years at Brown Shoe Company, Mae retired from there. She was a past member of Center Point Church and the last twenty years attended First Assembly of God Church in Sullivan. Mae enjoyed playing cards, square dancing, singing, taking photographs and playing Scrabble. She dearly valued all of her friends and lovingly devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willy and Velma Harris; one son, Roger Farrar; one daughter, Linda Hughes; great-grandson, Les Adams, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Starks; one brother, Hershel (Irene) Harris; and three sisters, Isolene (Frank) Kuenz, Helen (Roy) Turnbough and Virgie Santambrogio.

She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Scott Starks and friend, Wanda Swyers of Steelville, MO and David Metcalf and friend, Betty McWhirter of Bourbon, MO; one daughter, Gina (Les) Adams of Sullivan, MO; son-in-law, Mark Hughes of Leasburg, MO; brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Santambrogio of Steelville, MO; twelve grandchildren, Kimberly Nabor, Jackie Wynn, Kevin Kremalmyer, Richard Kreamalmyer, Timothy Metcalf, Kelly Juliette, Nicholas Metcalf, Mandy Keogh, Justin Wigger, Bill Adams, Tiffany Switzer and Tabatha Harmon; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many family members; and friends.

The Family received friends from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 with Pastor Darrell Nichols officiating. Special music of "One Day at a Time" and "Further Along" was sung by Cindra Williams with Kay Cuneio as pianist. Memories were shared by her daughter, Gina.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery.

Honored to be casket bearers were Tim Metcalf, Nick Metcalf, Shane Switzer, A.J. Harmon, Matt Keogh and Justin Wigger.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
