Louella Ann Emery

Louella Ann Emery, 87, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. 

Louella was born in Bonne Terre, MO, on February 12, 1933, to the late Clifton and Nadine (Hill) Conrad.  Louella loved God, her family and her friends. She married the love her life, John “Jack” Emery, and had 4 children with him:  Prudence, John Jr., Robert and Edwin. 

Louella loved cooking and everything she made was with love – that’s why it was so good. So, if she ever fed you, you were loved. She spent a lot of time cooking for church functions as well. Louella was a collector of people and things.She loved to travel all across the globe and to shop.  Many will remember her vast jewelry collection. Louella always had a good sense of humor and found the good in situations. She will be greatly missed.

Louella is survived by her daughter, Prudence Scanlon and husband, Kevin, of Raytown, MO; two sons, Robert Emery of Independence, MO and Edwin Emery of Sullivan, MO; 8 grandchildren:  Robert “RC” Emery, Neal Emery, Keegan Scanlon, Jack Scanlon, Tuesday Scanlon, Kevin Zane Scanlon, Nicholas Emery and Hannah Emery; one great-granddaughter, Alanna Emery; one sister, Margaret Johnston of Locust Grove, VA; one brother, Edwin Conrad and wife, Ruth, of Roswell, GA; two nephews, Edwin Conrad, Jr. and Kelly Conrad; one niece, Mary Strauss; and other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Emery, Sr.; one son, John Emery, Jr.; her parents, Clifton and Nadine Conrad; and one brother, Neal Conrad. 

A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
