Lora L. McKnight, age 82, of Bourbon, MO, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. 

Lora Lavell West was born on November 13, 1935 in rural Bourbon, MO to Oral and Leona (Kelly) West, one of ten children. She was united in marriage to Richard Olen McKnight on March 6, 1959 in St. Louis, MO, and was blessed with seven children. She attended the Cuba College of Hairdressing and owned and operated her own shop in Bourbon. Lora was a good Christian woman and served as assistant pastor of Faith Mission Tabernacle in Bourbon for many years. She was also a member of the Full Gospel Church International in St. Louis.  Lora’s greatest passion was for her children and grandchildren. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially the grandchildren. In her free time, Lora enjoyed reading her Bible, working puzzles, flower gardening and traveling to see family. She will be missed by her family and many friends. 

Lora is survived by her husband, Richard McKnight of Bourbon; six children, Benjamin Lollar of St. Louis, MO, Wilma Gaffney of House Springs, MO, Rick McKnight and wife Kathy of Leasburg, MO, Karen Goodman of Leasburg, MO, Connie Hollinsworth and husband Doug of Potosi, MO and Mark Mcknight and wife Theresa of Bourbon, MO; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Tyner and Cathy Upton, both of Tennessee, Lawrence West of Bourbon, MO, David West of Madisonville, TX and Janie Mullen of Leasburg, MO; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

Lora was preceded in death by her daughter, Yvonne Lutz; grandson, Mark Carroll; parents, Oral E. and Leona P. (Kelly) West; two brothers, Roy Lee and Ernie West; and two sisters, Bonnie Jordan West and Carol Marie West.

Funeral services were conducted 6 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor David Gargus and Tony McKnight as the officiants. Cremation followed. 

Visitation was held from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan and Bourbon, MO.
