Loetta F. Thurman

Loetta F. Thurman, age 81 of Cuba, MO, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. 

Loetta Faye was born on January 27, 1938 to William and Venetta Hoch in St. Louis, MO. She grew up and attended school in St. Louis and was united in marriage to Dan Thurman in 1953. Four children were born to their marriage, Dan, Jr., Dianna, Dana and Donald. Dan and Loetta raised their family in the Ferguson area where Loetta was employed by Mallin Ckrodt Chemical Co. for many years. After retirement they moved to their country place in Cuba. Loetta enjoyed working on their property, raking and burning leaves, gardening and working around the house. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casino. 

She is survived by two children, Dianna Thurman of Davisville, MO and Dan Thurman, Jr. and Kellie Hodges of Cuba, MO; five grandchildren, Richard, Michael, Stacy, Jason, and Jennifer; nine grandchildren; one brother, Wes Hoch, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Loetta was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Thurman, Sr.; two children, Dana Nelson and Donald Thurman; and her parents, William and Vanetta Hoch. 

It was Loetta’s wish to be cremated. Services will be held at a later date.
