Linda Carol Higgins

Linda Carol Higgins, 92, born in Locust Grove, Oklahoma on April 9,1928, passed away on April 22, 2020, surrounded by loving family in Granite Shoals, Texas.

Linda loved fabric and yarns. She worked as a seamstress most of her life. There were times she sewed fabrics. There were times she sewed shoes. There were times she sewed leathers. She loved it all and was so disappointed when her arthritis made pulling the fabric painful and her eyesight deteriorated so that she could no longer see to make her stitches. She still loved the feel of the soft  fabrics and yarns on her skin. Her joy, though, was making things for others, and her family remembers the many holidays she made new outfits for their special events.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Higgins; parents, Anna (Grayson) and Arthur Click; and her brother, Andy Click.

Those left to cherish her memories include her children, Christine Toronjo and husband Jeff, of Granite Shoals, Texas; Georgia Higgins, of St. Louis, Missouri; and Gerald Higgins, of Jefferson City, Missouri; grandchildren, Craig Higgins, Samantha Higgins, Robert Toronjo, Joshua Higgins, Daniel Toronjo, and Colin Toronjo; sister, Laura Pruitt of Sullivan, Missouri;  along with other loving family and friends.

Linda requested cremation with Putnam Funeral Home and Crematory. A service to spread Linda’s ashes as she requested will be announced when it is scheduled.
