Leonard A. Flyzik

Leonard A. Flyzik, age 79, of Cuba, MO, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Phelps County Regional Hospital in Rolla.

Leonard was born on December 12, 1938 in Lehighton, PA, to the Paul and Helen Flyzik. Anyone that knew him knew of his love of hunting, fishing, and most of all, sitting in his camper listening to his CB radio. No matter where you would run into Leonard he had a wonderful smile on his face. Whenever someone told him goodbye, they did not leave without hearing his favorite line, “Leave a hat on so I will know you.”

Leonard was united in marriage to Delores Bizzle on April 8, 1961 and together, they had four children: Mike, Sandy, Tony and Lisa. Leonard was a proud father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved all of his family with his entire heart and will be missed dearly.

Leonard is survived by his four children: Mike Flyzik, Sandy Gaskill and her husband, Dennis, Tony Flyzik, and Lisa Lambing and her husband, Steve; honorary daughter, Tina Flyzik; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Carl Bizzle and his wife, Susan; sisters-in-law, Leona Williams, Darlene Knight, Sandy Weir, Sara Flyzik and Kay Bizzle.

Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Flyzik; his parents, Paul and Helen Flyzik; his in-laws, Wid and Bessie Bizzle; one brother, Robert Flyzik; brothers-in-law, Roy Bizzle and Marley Bizzle; and nephews, Brad Bizzle and Shannon Bizzle.

A Remembrance Memorial Service was held 7 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Duke West as the officiant. Inurnment will be held, at a later date, in Cave Spring Cemetery in Sullivan.

Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, at the Eaton Funeral Home.
