Lawrence “Larry” Peebles, age 80, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Crabapple Village in St. Clair, MO, surrounded by his family.

Larry was born on June 15, 1939 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Samuel D. and Katherine L. (Whayne) Peebles. He grew up and attended school in Stanton, MO. Larry was united in marriage to Janet M. Blanton on January 8, 1965 and they were blessed with four children: Susan, Laura, Sandy and Karen. Through the years, Larry was employed at Pea Ridge Mines, Valentec, and Rexam Containers. He retired from Rexam in 2004; however, he went back to work for them again and retired a second time in 2010. Larry enjoyed being outside, whether he was spending time at the river, hunting or fishing, camping, or working in his vegetable garden. He also enjoyed working in his garage on all types of engines. Larry will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and friends.

Larry is survived by his four daughters: Susan Baker and husband, Tim, of Washington, MO, Laura Weirich and husband, Michael, of Stanton, MO, Sandy Bay and husband, Jim, of Eminence, MO, and Karen Brimer and husband, Jared, of Sullivan, MO; nine grandchildren: Chad Blakeburn, Eric Blakeburn, Micah, Emma and Sophie Weirich, Amber Maune, James Maune, Joshua Beck and Matthew Beck; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet M. Peebles; his parents, Samuel D. and Katherine L. (Whayne) Peebles; one sister, Virginia “Kate” Edgar; and two brothers, George Peebles and Samuel Peebles.

Funeral services were conducted 12 noon, Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO, with Pastor John Blackmore as the officiant. Burial followed in Stanton Cemetery, Stanton, MO.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Thursday, at Eaton Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be made to:  St. Clair VFW Post 2482 and/or the Alzheimer’s Association.
