Larry ‘Scott’ Smith

Larry “Scott” Smith of Bourbon, MO, passed away at his home on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the age of 40 years, 11 months and 16 days. Scott was born July 1, 1978 in Landstuhl, Germany to his parents, Larry Ray Smith and Sharon Ann Smith.

Scott attended the Nazarene Church in Bourbon when he was younger. During his middle school years, he played football and played the trombone in band. He graduated from Bourbon High School in 1996. Scott was a Fireman for the Sullivan Firehouse at one time. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours deer and turkey hunting, fishing and gigging in his spare time. He was known to his family as a great Bar-B-Quer and smoker of meats when it was time for dinner. Scott loved his family, and his children who were so very important and meant the world to him, and his Boxer, Charlotte.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Ann Smith; and his maternal grandparents, Harold and Ella Smith.

Scott is survived by his children, Lukas Scott Smith and Ella Smith of St. Louis, MO; his father, Larry Ray (Charisse) Smith of Bourbon, MO; his sister, Gina Marie Smith of Gerald, MO; and paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Eula Smith of Washington, MO.

The family received friends from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Richie officiating. Special music of “Free Bird”, “Comfortably Numb” and “Behind Blue Eyes” was played.

The family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
