Karen Gibbs

Karen Gayle Scherrer Gibbs of Bourbon, MO passed this life at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis; Tuesday Morning at 6:30; May 30, 2017, at the age of 71.

Karen was born to Eldon and Delores Scherrer on October 20, 1945 in Osseo, WI.

Karen was graduated from La Cross High School in La Crosse, WI. Karen married Lindell Gibbs December 12, 1964 in Manchester, MO. Karen loved the adult coloring books, she loved to paint-she loved her family and her dogs.

Karen worked at Bourbon Senior Center for 12 years; until her doctor made her quit.

She and Lindell loved going to yard sales; more than the sales they loved each other and doing things together.

Karen was proceeded in death by her beautiful daughter Gayle Lynn; mother Delores and father Eldon Scherrer; her maternal grandparents who saw to a large portion of her raising; Martin and Olena Hanson.

Karen is survived by her husband Lindell; 2 sons: Lanny Gibbs of Lonedell, MO and Matt Gibbs of St. Louis, MO. One brother David Scherrer of Panama City, Florida; one sister; Barbara Quemann of Eau Claire, WI; also many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

At the time of her death, Karen resided on Old Springfield Road in Bourbon where she lived with her husband, Lindell Gibbs.

Karen will be missed by many including First Missionary Baptist Church of Bourbon where she and Lindell have been long time members.

Karen was saved by the awesome grace of God, and baptized along with her husband Lindell on Easter Sunday April 6, 1969 at First Missionary Baptist Church of Bourbon.

Memorial service for Karen was held at First Missionary Baptist Church, 355 Walnut Street; Bourbon, MO; 65441 with Bro Mike· King officiating on Saturday; June 10, 2017 at 11 a.m.
