Karen E. Pohlmann

Karen E. Pohlmann, age 72 of Sullivan, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

Karen Elfreida Reeves was born on September 14, 1944 in Denver, CO to William F. and Freida A. (Delcour) Reeves. Karen was united in marriage to Don Pohlmann on October 20, 1967 in Steelville, MO. They would have celebrated 50 years together this coming October. Karen was employed by the former St. Clair Dye Casting for 30 years, and most recently as a cashier at the fuel desk at Flying J Travel Plaza for 13 years. She was a hardworking lady. Karen loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed a special bond with her twin sister Sharen. Many years ago, Karen was baptized at Temple Baptist Church.

Karen is survived by her husband Don Pohlmann of Sullivan; three children, Debbie Saebens of Sullivan, Teresa Pohlmann of St. Louis, J. D. Pohlmann of Sullivan; twin sister, Sharen Thurmond and husband Eddie of Stanton, Lois Tice of Springfield, Sheryl Hulsey and husband Bryce of Bourbon; one sister-in-law, Joann Reeves of Broken Arrow, OK; nine grandchildren, Emily Woolsey, Blaine Saebens, Jesse Pohlmann, Brandy Tillford, Zach Frame, Billie Jack Saebens, Frank Pohlmann, Amber Frame, and Logine Pohlmann,; nine great-grandchildren, Jaden Woolsey, Kayden Wood, Cordi Woolsey, Johny Fudge, Jordyn Tillford, Jett Tillford, Ella Saebens, Audri Saebens, and Cash Saebens; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Freida (Delcour) Reeves; two brothers, Ralph Ray and Eugene Reeves; two sisters, Janet Largent, Fairy Lea Manion; two brothers-in-law, Jim Tice and Kenny Largent; and one granddaughter, Michelle Pohlmann.

Memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital are appreciated.

It was Karen’s wish to be cremated. There are no services at this time.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan and Bourbon, MO.
