Julie F. Miller

Mrs. Julie F. Miller (Dixon), of Casper, WY, passed away in Casper, WY, August 14, 2017. Julie was cremated and memorial services were held August 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Boyd Avenue Baptist Church, Casper, WY, with Paster Quinn Williams officiating. Julie was born August 14, 1932 in Sullivan, MO to Arlie Dixon and Nana Puckett (Dixon).

Julie was married to James Lee Miller in 1951 at First Baptist Church, Sullivan, MO. She lived with her husband, Jim and son Rick in Belleville, IL and worked in the administrative offices of the public grade school system in Belleville, IL, where she was loved by both her fellow workers and the students. Julie and Jim relocated to Isfahan, Iran in 1978 where Jim's position as the CEO of Operations for American Bell International took them. When the Shah of Iran was deposed in 1979 they were forced to evacuate and upon their safe return to the United States, they retired to Casper, WY to be near their son, Rick and their grandson, Coy Miller.

Julie was always very active in her local church community, Boyd Avenue Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She loved being known as "Grandma Julie" and enjoyed the many children that she watched grow into adults. Julie became the care giver for the children of Larry and Margo Bean in Casper who became the second family of Jim and Julie. She was proud to be call "Grandma Julie" by all four of the Bean children and the Bean family remained close to Julie through the rest of her life.

Julie was an excellent cook and loved baking for the holiday dinners for the families. She was known by the guests for her fabulous Christmas dinners. She held a special place in her heart for the holidays and special celebrations shared by the families and church friends.

Julie is surviced by her son, Rick Miller of Casper, WY; Grandson, Coy Miller of Portland, OR; siblings Margaret Tippens, Metairie, LA, Arline Johanning, Washington, MO, Fran Vogt-Strauss, Davie, FL, Carol Neal, Sullivan, MO; 1 grandchild and 1 great-grandchild.

Preceding Julie in death was husband, James L. Miller; parents Nana and Arlie Dixon; sister, Madline Oakes, brother, Buss Dixon, brother, Arlie Dixon, Jr., and sister, Jo Ann Pennock.
