Judith “Judy” Tiefenbrunn, age 82, of Sullivan, MO, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, August 30, 2020.

Judith Kathleen Tiefenbrunn was born to the union of Francis C. (Bud) Martin and Eva R. nee Naugle Martin on September 10, 1937. Judy was the seventh and youngest of Bud and Eva's children.

Judy attended Sullivan, Missouri elementary and high schools, graduating in 1955. During high school she was active in band and choral music; playing the clarinet, singing solos, in trios, sextets and the concert choir. In the summer months, she enjoyed riding in timed events as part of quarter horse shows. Her engraved saddle remains in the family home to this day.

On March 16,1956 Judy was married to Roy Edward Tiefenbrunn Jr. at Temple Baptist Church. Roy and Judy made their home in Sullivan, Missouri for over sixty-four years. Judy loved the outdoors and planting. She looked forward to each growing season to plant flowers and to be outdoors.

In 2010, Judy began to have health problems. These escalated to the point of her becoming a resident of Meramec Nursing Center in February 2015. Returning to home one week prior to her death fulfilled one of Judy's final wishes. Her last seven earthly days were spent living in her home's sunroom.

Judy became a Christian, was baptized and a became a member of Temple Baptist Church in her preteen years. Teaching Sunday school for a number of years was a great memory and source of pride for her.

Judy's warm and radiant personality created love and respect from all that knew her. She believed fervently in using please and thank you. Many of the nursing center's personnel became friends to Roy and Judy during her five year stay at the facility. Her effervescent smile was one not easily forgotten.
