John Joseph Susnic
John J. Susnic, 63, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Mercy Hospital St. Louis.
John Joseph was born on June 6, 1954 to Blase J. and Emily (Kucera) Susnic in St. Louis, MO. He graduated from Sullivan High School in 1972 before attending college in Columbia, MO. He was a caregiver to his parents for many years.
John and Rebecca Sue Conaway were united in marriage on March 27, 1993 in Sullivan, MO. Over the years, John owned Susnic Bakery, drove a truck and worked as a machinist. His love of music even led him to own and operate a wedding karaoke business for several years. His talents seemed endless; he was talented at baking, cooking, vegetable gardening, he was known as a “computer whiz” and overall known for doing good things. John also volunteered at Eagle Flight Ministries in Steelville, MO. He will be missed dearly by his family and closest friends.
John is survived by his wife, Rebecca S. (Conaway) Susnic; his beloved dog Allie; one brother, David Susnic and wife Judy of Leasburg, MO; one sister, Susan Staley and husband Charles of Harvester, MO; one brother-in-law, Joe Squires of Ballwin, MO; three sisters-in-law, Melissia Widger of Steelville, MO; Gina Eaton and husband Wayne of Cahokia, IL; Ramona Susnic of Sullivan, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Blase J. and Emily (Kucera)Susnic; two brothers, Blase Susnic, Jr. and Jim Susnic; one sister, Carol Squires; his mother and father in-law, Howard and Betty (Teal) Conaway; brother-in-law, Howard Cheryl and wife Linda Mesey; and a sister-in-law, Cindy Pines.
A Memorial Funeral service was conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
Visitation was held from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
