Joel Max Barnwell, 77, formerly of St. Clair passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 in Union.

Mr. Barnwell, son of the late Earl Barnwell and wife Bessie nee Warren was born August 22, 1940 in Piggott, AR.

On December 2, 1961 he was united in marriage to Linda Fry in Crockett, AR.

Joel was a member of the Church of Christ in Sullivan.

Joel enjoyed the outdoors and took part in many of the activities that can be appreciated in nature along with hunting, fishing, bird watching, flowers, and horses.

Joel was an auto repairman for Chrysler and retired after 30 years of service.

Joel is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bessie Barnwell and step-father, Virgil Vincent.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Barnwell of Bourbon; two sons, Charles David Barnwell and wife Allison of Gerald and Shayne Joel Barnwell and wife Dianne of Catawissa; one brother, James Barnwell of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Sunny Sue Crum of Lafayette, IN; five grandchildren, Justin and wife Shiela, Daniel, Christopher and fiancé Taylor, Cody, and Sarah; seven great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial visitation will be held 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Midlawn Funeral Home, Union with services at 3 p.m. Visit www.midlawn.com for an online register book.

In lieu of Flowers memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
