Jimmy Ray Claspill

Jimmy R. Claspill, 75, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in Salem, MO.

Jimmy Ray was born on March 8, 1942 to Robert S. Claspill and Virginia (Hawkins) Claspill in Sullivan, MO. Following high school graduation, Jimmy entered the United States Navy and served for four years on an aircraft carrier, until he was honorably discharged. He worked many years as a private pilot. He flew for Wausau Insurance Company, Tombstone Pizza and Federal Express. Jimmy also worked as a plane mechanic and ran the Merrill Airport in Merrill, WI for several years. Of Jimmy’s first marriage to Jackie Jones, came his two children, William and Justine. On January 1, 1980, Jimmy and Judy Sturm were united in marriage in Hamburg, Wisconsin. In 2004, they moved to Salem, MO to make their home. Due to health issues, Jimmy retired in 2006.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Judy A. (Sturm) Claspill; one son, William Claspill of Rochester, MO; one daughter, Justine Claspill of Atlanta, GA and one granddaughter, Kayla Claspill.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert S. and Virginia (Hawkins) Claspill; one brother, Robert Claspill and one sister, Carol Carter.

A private graveside service will be held for Mr. Claspill.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
