Jessica K. Delashmit, 43, of Bourbon, MO, passed away at her home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, July 28, 2020.

Jessica Kathryn Grey was born in Belvidere, IL, on June 4, 1977, to Lawrence O., Jr. and Ruth E. (Logan) Grey.  She was raised in Madison, IL, but lived in various places because her family was always involved with The Salvation Army. Jessica met Jason at Camp Mihaska, where they were later married on May 2, 1998. They were blessed with two children, Brandon and Courtney. Jessica loved children and she was able to teach preschool for many years.  She was very creative, had a beautiful voice and loved to sing.  Above all, her faith and her family were most important to her.  Throughout Jessica’s life, she always relied on her faith for strength and it became her rock during her illness.  Jessica will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family and friends. 

Jessica is survived by her husband, Jason Delashmit of Bourbon; two children, Brandon and Courtney Delashmit of Bourbon; her father, Lawrence Grey, Jr. of Alexandria, VA; her mother, Ruth E. Grey of Granite City, IL; four siblings:  Dawnalee Grey of Alexandria, VA, Jeremy Grey and wife, Heidi, of Grant City, IL, Joshua Grey and wife, Jennifer of Alexandria, VA, and Sean Grey and wife, Cassandra, of Bismarck, ND; in-laws, Mike and Amy Delashmit of Bourbon, MO; “The Posse”; and other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her grandparents:  Joseph & Margie Logan, Lawrence & Marilyn Grey, and George & Bernice Delashmit; and one brother-in-law, Ryan Delashmit.

Cremation arrangements have taken place.  A Remembrance Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2020 at The Salvation Army Camp Mihaska Chapel, 1466 Hwy N, Bourbon, MO 65441.

Memorial contributions in Jessica’s memory may be made to the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, OK.
