Jerry Landers

Jerry Landers, 76, of Bourbon, MO, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.

Gerald Lee “Jerry” was born on July 27, 1941 in St. Louis, MO, to Ellis Homer and Ida Bell (Downing) Landers. The Landers family moved to Sullivan when Jerry was young and still in school. He was united in marriage to Carol Dill on November 15, 1958 and they were blessed with 59 years of marriage. Jerry was employed by Meramec Mining Company for 15 years, co-owned and operated M and J Service with Mike Door and 10 years at Industrial Wire Products. He was known as “Mr. Fix It” and could make anything out of nothing. He built a cabin with electric for his grandkids, whom he adored, and built a Go-cart from scratch. Jerry also enjoyed fishing and hunting; however, his family was most important to him. Jerry was a Christian and attended Sullivan Family Worship Center.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Carol (Dill) Landers of Bourbon, MO; two children, C. J. Landers and wife Phyllis of Hawk Point, MO; and Leisha Landers of Bourbon, MO; four grandchildren, Tonya Landers, Ashley Henke, Christopher and Fallon Landers; seven great grandchildren, Autumn Grill, William Landers, Jacob Dunkin, Jayden Henke, Tyler Dunkin, Aubrey Dunkin and Isac Landers; one sister, Carolyn Fedak and husband Al of Gulf Shores, AL; sister-in-law, Doris Landers of Donaldsonville, GA; good friend, Bill Costic; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Greg Landers; his parents, Ellis and Ida (Downing) Landers and one brother, Wayne Landers.

Memorial services will be conducted at 6 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Sullivan Family Worship Center with Pastor Duncan Skiles officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. on Friday evening at Sullivan Family Worship Center.
