Jearld V. Sandberg, Sr., 72, of Sullivan, MO passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at his home.

Jearld Vern Sandberg was born on July 7, 1945 to William and Leah (Murphy) Sandberg in Salt Lake City, UT. Jearld was a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry for many years. He and his family traveled extensively around the country for work, but finally settled in Sullivan. On September 5, 2009, Jearld was united in marriage to Kathy Vanatti in Florida. He was a gifted musician and enjoyed playing guitar, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of Rides for Christ and his family said his “Donald Duck” voice was legendary.

Jearld is survived by his wife, Kathy Sandberg of Deltona, FL; four sons, Charles Hayes (Julie) and Jearld Sandberg, Jr. (Xiomara), all of Deltona, FL; Robert Sandberg and Jack Sandberg (Amanda) all of Sullivan, MO; 15 grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Gabriel Sandberg, Karol and Kevin Arias, Chad and Shantelle Hayes, Dakota, Abel and Sophia Sandberg, Tiffany Northrop, Destini and Mariah Sandberg, Kadynce and Kyle Todd; three great-grandchildren, Karter, Kyle and Kaylee Northrop; one brother, Jim Sandberg of Utah; other relatives and many friends.

Jearld was preceded in death by his parents, William and Leah (Murphy) Sandberg; and one granddaughter, Ashlee Hayes.

It was Mr. Sandberg’s wish to be cremated. A Gathering of Family and Friends was held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
