Jay Paul House

Jay Paul House, 81, of Union, MO, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his home.

Jay, also known as T. J. (Texas Jack), was born on June 27, 1936, son of the late Earl R. and Marjorie (Moore) House, Sr. Born and raised in the Midwest, he cut his teeth on the back of a horse and learned to handle firearms at an early age. At the age of 14, Jay decided to see the world and started hitchhiking across the U. S., paying his way by doing art work and selling it on the way.

After several years, Jay found himself in Texas, settling there until the outbreak of the Korean War. He couldn’t resist volunteering and found himself working with high explosives under less than favorable conditions. During this time, Jay was married to Lorraine Jakel and of this union, came his two sons, Jay D. and Kevin. They were later divorced. Next, he joined the Air Force and made it a point to get his education. After his discharge, he spent two years riding bulls in the rodeo while getting a pilot’s license on the GI Bill.

Then, one day at White Sands, NM, he watched Richard Boone acting in the T. V. series Paladin. Jay fell in love with filmmaking then and there. He headed back to college where he majored in Television and Motion Picture Production. Jay was hired as the head of Casa Productions based in Missouri where he shot commercials and educational documentaries, furnishing men and horses for out of state filming in the Midwest. When called upon, Jay coordinated stunts. His specialty was being blown up. While living in Missouri, Jay went to work at the Chrysler Corporation, eventually retiring from there. After retirement, he drove a school bus for many years. On April 2, 1996, he was united in marriage to Patricia Heise and inherited two more children; Kristina and Kristopher. He lived an exciting and interesting life and will be remembered always by his family and many friends. Well… you know what they say in Tombstone… bye!

Jay is survived by his wife of twenty-one years, Patricia (Heise) House, three sons, Jay D. House and wife Elaine of Waco, TX; Kevin House of Tomball, TX and Kristopher Miller of Sparta, MO; one daughter, Kristina Miller of Sullivan, MO; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Earl House and wife Darleen of Stagecoach, TX; two sisters, Barbara Thompson and husband Nathan of Houston, TX and Diane House-Brand of Houston, TX; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and grandson, Ryan.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Father Eric Kunz officiating. Burial followed with full Military Honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
