Jarrod Hunter, 32, of Sullivan passed away at his home Sunday, January 19, 2020.

Jarrod Christopher Heinle Hunter was born March 28, 1987 in Rolla, MO. He was raised by his parents, Janet Miller, Butch Hunter, and Jim and Shannon Heinle. He grew up and attended school in Sullivan and graduated from Sullivan High School in 2005. Jarrod entered the US Air Force and served his country for nearly three years until he was honorably discharged. In 2008, Jarrod began dating Brandi Barnett, and the two were married on October 20, 2018. At his young age, Jarrod did many work-related things in life.  He was a hard worker who was talented at working with his hands. Most that knew and loved him would say that “he could learn to do most anything mechanical”.  Over the years, Jarrod enjoyed working with his dad, Jim.  Recently, he became an apprentice lineman and was employed by IBEW Local 2.  Jarrod loved his job and was proud of achieving a lineman status.

Most would say Jarrod was one of a kind. He lived life on the edge since he was a young boy.  He had a sense of adventure and lived without fear. Jarrod’s fantasy was to live “off the grid” and he was always thrilled with the idea of surviving in nature. He loved to hunt with his Pop (Butch) and his brother, Josh. He always loved boolin’ it with his brother, Jonah, as well as hanging out with friends.  Many will remember his sense of humor and quick wit.

Jarrod was most fond of being a dad to his two beautiful children, Brock and Haley.  He treasured spending time with them and teaching them skills. He loved them more than anything else.  Jarrod also had a special bond with his “Nana” prior to her death. He will be missed by many family and friends.

Although their hearts are heavy from their loss, Jarrod’s family know that he would be so proud that his organs were able to be donated locally to families in need.

Jarrod is survived by his wife, Brandi Hobson Hunter of Sullivan; two children, Brock Hobson and Haley “Princess” Hobson, both of Sullivan; his parents, Janet Miller of Stanton, MO and Jim and Shannon Heinle of Bourbon, MO; grandparents, Joan Atkins of Washington, MO, Lana and Lou Sutfin of Stanton, MO, Barb and Bob Heinle of Sullivan, MO, and Eileen Long of Bourbon, MO; two brothers, Joshua Hunter (Chazeray Hulsey) of Bourbon, MO, and Jonah Hunter (Aryn Stevens) of Bourbon, MO; four sisters:  Alecialinn Hunter (Joshua Smith) of Gerald, MO, Jessica Berti and husband Austin of Sullivan, MO, Alyssa Heinle (Joe Rigdon) of Sullivan, MO, and Emmy Heinle (Ryan Juergens) of Sullivan, MO; his aunts:  Shauna McCullough and husband Joe of Fort Leonard Wood, MO, Pam Hunter of Union, MO, and Jenifer Dixon of St. Louis, MO; uncles:  Bill Heinle and wife Shannon of Sullivan, MO, Steve Heinle and wife Sherri of Arnold, MO, Trevis Sutfin of Clover Bottom, MO, and Nick Hunter and wife Lisa of Union, MO; his nieces and nephews who were very dear to his heart: Marlowe, Elowyn, Noah, Lucas, Kale, Easton, Odin, Korielle, Avery, Izarra, Izabella, Kaelinn, Kaiden, Kinsley, Landen, Wyatt, Dylan, Alexis, Ashmo, Ava, LJ, Maggie, Marissa, Austin and Matthew; his honorary brothers: Cole McCoy, Zack Cole, Jacob Cole, Ryan Hill, Krazy Carl, Chris Endicott, Kyle Barch, William Bouckaert, and Justin Martin; other relatives and many friends.
