Janet L. Venson

Janet Venson, age 76, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan. 

Janet Lou was born on September 21, 1942 in Vanduser, Missouri, to the late Jack and Thelma (Spurgeon) Armstrong. She grew up in Sikeston, MO and attended Kelly High School. Janet married Raymond Venson on March 17, 1969 in Bowling Green, MO. Through the years, Raymond worked as a park ranger, and Janet as a beautician in St. Louis. Later, she was employed as a housekeeper for the Best Western in Sullivan. Janet truly was a caregiver to everyone by nature, and loved to garden and cook in her free time. 

Janet is survived by one brother, Jim Reeves and wife, Peggy, of Sullivan; one sister, Pat Parks and husband, Ed, of Davis, OK; Gloria Gillespie and husband, Randy, of Sullivan; her good friend, Norma Robertson of Sullivan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond; her parents; two brothers, Jackie Armstrong and Johnny Reeves; two sisters, Jerris Keller and Peggy Blagg. 

A Celebration of Life Gathering was held from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
