James ‘Jim’ Ray Brown 

James “Jim” Ray Brown of Cuba, MO, was born on Wednesday, April 2, 1952 in Lansing, MI and passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the age of 65 years, 7 months, and 15 days.

Jim married Sheila Harmon on July 8, 1972 at Evergreen Baptist Church, Leslie, MO. He began working as a brick layer for MST Masonry, Spring Bluff, MO. He later was a member of the Brick Layers Local #1 and worked in St. Louis, MO from 1978-2001. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his grandchildren. He attended Bible Baptist Church, Cuba, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents George Washington Brown and Pearl Mae Sudholt Brown; mother-in-law Donna Harmon; and brother-in-law Mike Garrett.

He is survived by his wife Sheila Brown of Cuba, MO; sons Clayton (friend Toni Lederie-Elmer) Brown of Sullivan, MO, Aaron Brown and Joseph Brown all of Cuba, MO; special friends Shelly Wise Armstrong of St. Louis, MO and Anna Craig of Aalborg, Denmark; father-in-law Ernest Paul (Betty) Harmon of St. James, MO; brother-in-law Ernest Paul (Pat) Harmon, Jr. of Sullivan, MO; sisters-in-law Faye Garrett of Cape Girardeau, MO, Pauline (Steve) Blankenship of Sullivan, MO and Debbie (Greg) Anderson of Quincy, MO; nieces Chastity Bradfield of Scott City, MO and Bonnie Sue Sanford of Sullivan, MO; grandchildren Aaron J., Gracie, Serena, Chantel, Tyler, Blake and Alyssa; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Private Graveside Service took place on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Evergreen Cemetery, Leslie, MO. Memorials may be given to (MAAG) Mid-MO Addiction Awareness Group, P.O. Box 116, Sullivan, MO 63080 or American Cancer Society. Arrangements under the care of Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO.
